This song is about Phil's disregard for the music industry and the elite behind it. He doesn't care what they think, he knows who they are, he won't escape and they can't stop his feelings. We might all be prisonners here but all of this doesn't matter, because in the end, we go back home. Back to the lord, the oneness. Thank you Phil, we will see each other home. :) |

This song seems to be talking about alien abductions and having aliens feed on us may it be physically or metaphysically. Like if our lives we're at their mercy as we are but only slaves and only reborn to be abused again but we never remember it. Yet we must not surrender. |

Yeah some nice interpretation! I love that song, but I see another meaning...I always saw the rose has earth and the desert has the universe. Sting being one the survivors of the apocalypse, remebers the world has it once was and nows it won't come back. Only memories haunt him of the rose we have let die. |
