Love the song! I think on the last lines of the chorus, its supposed to be : "Here's too wishes that'll never come true"- as in like the toast you make at christmas might be wrong, just what I thought, make more sense. anyway, great song! |

love this song couple of lyrics seems wrong though, I think it starts : "Haven't you heard? I'm stuck on a verse" and then: "And haven't you heard? I've fallen head first" and : "'Cause words don't make what I make with him" |

| Kate Walsh – Bury My Head Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I love this song, I think its about the person she loves cheating on her, her knowing about it and knowing she really ought to leave him but she won't, she just buries her head in the sand about it all. I always think its "HOW can't you be different from the rest" - maybe thats not right, but it seems to makes more sense to me, its like shes not saying she wishes he was different but that she can't believe she was wrong about him - she thought he was so different. great song and great picture painted about the story, about the power someone you love has over you and maybe shes hinting at the manipulation of that power in "tip toeing where you shine your light" - definitely a relate-able type of song. |

love this song! couple of errors on the lyrics though, it: "with a fake chanel under her arm a tenner from the feller on the high street" and "hoping that his face wouldn't make her wince he opened his mouth to say hello" don't mean to be nitpicky just noticed them as I was looking through :) anyway I love this song, and I think its really sweet that she wrote it for her friend :) |

basically I think the song is her thinking back on a relationship how it began, how it went etc, remembering nice parts and bad parts but not regretting any of it when it comes down to it cos "you can grow flowers from where dirt used to be"- I think that is her saying you build off the bad experiences in your life to create good ones, learning from your mistakes kind of thing A fantastic song me thinks :D |

I think its her talking to her daughter ,maybe she is explaining stuff about Selah's father, and her mistakes with him,. and her life at that time and up to that point maybe something went wrong with the father and the song is her expressing her desire for her daughter to understand what happened and why she made some of the decisions she made I dunno, thats how it sounded to me anyway -I adore this line: "How beautiful is fruit still in denial of it's roots" beautiful |

| Jack Johnson – Sexy Plexi Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I don't know, maybe what I think is wrong, but as soon as I heard this song, and the word "plexi" I thought about plectrum, like you use to play the gituar. everyone is connecting it to one of his big loves, surfing, but maybe it is (also) about his other big love, music. He could be talking about his reletionship to his gituar and his music, and comparing it to other things in his life, maybe other people. The way he says "Just like glass with no ring Softer and sadder you sing "- I think he is talking about the material of the plectrum, but also talking about people. Maybe glass refering to the fragileness (of people, or reletionships or selfconciousnes in people) the "ring" maybe having double meanings of commitment (wedding ring), softer and sadder, maybe a person he is thinking of, their state of mind or their personality. "Learn to be shy and then you can sting " - maybe it's something he has been told, saying a person has to be modest and sort of demure, kinda like that quote from macbeth "look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under it" kinda like the way some people, maybe someone he knows, acts. perhaps people have said that is how you can be successful, like to be modest but know that you are good, and that you can go places, like having ambition under a reserved exterior. "And everyone you wanted to know And everyone you wanted to meet "- it could be that that is about how people can be around wanting things from you, to hear your music, but all the things that you indended to get from it, aren't there anymore, all the people that were important to you, have taken a backseat when you put your music ahead of everything else. (maybe that is how he has seen other people go, and wants to avoid himself, just an observation of others) "Breaking your mind By killing the time that kills you " in a job were time is precious and seems to rule above everything else, maybe just taking a moment out to chill and enjoy it is killing the time that is killing you I dunno this is just all the things I think it could be about, and that I thought when I heard it, I could be wrong, but I like to think about it this way. |

| Tracy Chapman – Change Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song is saying, if you had alll the answers and had the power to go back and change the decisions you have made, or will make in the future or simply had a chance to know things that will effect the way they see the world now, would they do it, or want it. it's about accepeting that you don't know everything, things will go wrong, and you wil regret things, and wish that you could change them, but in the end they happen for a reason I think it is just about life and the way we view it, people think that they wish they had the answers, and wish they had more control over the way things in their life turned out, but if they had it, they would be lost, it would raise so many question that they couldn;t answer, they wouldn't know what to do. Sometimes it is better that the decision is taken out of our hands. Life is about not knowing all the answers right now. |

| Tracy Chapman – All That You Have Is Your Soul Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song, I think it is alot about living your life, but staying true to yourself, like everything else can go wrong, and be lost, be still be true to yourself, have your soul. | |
| Tracy Chapman – Never Yours Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I can't belive no one has commented on this song! I love it, it is so amazing. To me, I see alot of themes of things like arranged marriage, like the following of orders, but not giving over a part of yourself, never being truley "theirs" I am probably seeing very random parts of it, and no one probably agree's with me, but I don't mind. |

I forgot to actually comment on the song before, I totally agree with blueandyellow75 I think it is about life, things you experience. whatever you experience. It's about things that everyone goes through at some point "text book stuff" being like, you could have told them about it before they told you becuase it is so common, that you went through it to, if that makes sense. "The ABC's of growing up" it being like all the learning experiences you have to go through as you grow up, before you get to grips with the way things work, and learn a thing a two about life. Its like saying, yeah we all did that as we grow up, but don't regret it, cos everyone is like that, and everyone has to go through things like that, thats what I thought anyway. |

when I looked at the lyrics elsewhere it said that is was "Don’t feed me violence, just run - " it said it on most of the others too, dunno which is write, cosit does sound like violins, and I can see meaning behind it being violins. great song anyway, I can't stop listening to it :) |

| Jack Johnson – Breakdown Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I agree with snarkfeathers it doesn't really matter what he intended it to mean, not in this situation atleast. It is alot more about what a person gets from the song in themselves. Why do you think it asks "what does this song mean to you?" above your comment box. I love LETIGREBABE151 interpreation of what the song is about. I know that Jack has said that it isn't, and many have been quick to jump to his defence in his love for his wife (which I thought was really sweet) but people forget that you don't have to write just about experiences in your own life, some people write about other peoples lives. Plus it could have been a previous reletionship he was talking about anyway. I love what Jack says it is really about too, that he is honest, and doesn't try to sound like "oh yeah I love this, I never get tired, I never just wish for a break" it makes him seem more human, if you get what I mean. I guess, I like to think it can be about all the different things people have said they connected with it, it is about what ever you want it to be about, when it comes down to it, I think that is what music is really about. |
