Brian Eno – Back In Judy's Jungle Lyrics 15 years ago
Also, the lyrics in this song are extremely clever! The way he describes the acid dosing in the first stanza makes me smile. And I'm sure tripping with Eno would have been quite fantastic!

Brian Eno – Back In Judy's Jungle Lyrics 15 years ago
Wonderful song! It's like Eno's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Upon first hearing it I assumed it was about Vietnam, but then upon a closer look at the lyrics I realized that this song is spefically about LSD experiments the British government conducted on their troops.

Here's some footage from the whole ordeal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX7m4fqTLKU

I particularly like the part about the rocket brigade's efficiency ;)

So many people live in make believe,
They keep a lot a going up their sleeves.

I think the correct lyrics for this line are "They keep a lot of dirt up their sleeves." He says dirt with a Louisiana accent though, so it sounds more like "Doit."

Grateful Dead – Sugaree Lyrics 18 years ago
Sugaree is a reference to an old Elizabeth Cotten tune, "Shake Sugaree"

I always thought the title was a reference to Neal Cassady, but I don't really see how the song relates to him, so I must be wrong about that.

Pretty sure it's "The Bell Has Tolled" not "The Barrel-house told me"

Peter Tosh – Legalize It Lyrics 19 years ago
"Smoking pot doesn't help any of the sicknesses he listed."

As a matter of fact, I think you're wrong.

For one, marijuana smoke opens up airways, thusly, it helps asthma patients.

Also, marijuana smoke inhibits vomitting. Therefore it makes having the flu a little bit more comfortable.

"As old as History itself, both Cannabis and Tuberculosis have been an important part of mankind's development [1]. Now new reports have opened up new avenues for research. Cannabis Seeds & Extracts were long thought to be among the only ethnobotanicals effective against TB, but the link remained elusive [2]. Then with Cannabis Prohibition all such research was stopped"

I have no information about Thrombosis, but Peter Tosh knew what he was talking about, and dreamer, you're a moron. Know your facts before you post.

Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan – Revolver Lyrics 19 years ago
It was her project, not Mark's. She wrote all the lyrics and the music. Why should it be under his name?

Talking Heads – The Girls Want To Be With The Girls Lyrics 19 years ago
The keyboard in this song is phenominal. Did Eno do it?

The Unicorns – Abominable Snowman Lyrics 19 years ago
In a Corn Gangg bootleg I found, Nick introduces this song as "an old Arcade Fire song" as a sort of tongue-in-cheek stab at the audience, I think, and of course, the audience cheers.
