He's got this girlfriend and things aren't too great with her, but she's been all he's had for a while, but now he's got this new girl that he really is falling in love with and he's emphasizing how the little things are really what matters-- but he's telling his girlfriend about the new girl. | |

Oh God, I saw Leslie and Conor perform this live together. Needless to say, it was endlessly amazing and I still have the fondest memory of that show. It was the first time I heard Feist (I was there for Bright Eyes) and I instantly fell in love and bought her CD right then and there. It was such a fantastic show, and this is my favorite song from her. I call it my happy song. 'Cause it gives you that feeling of bouncy contentment, if there is such a thing. |

He's found this girl who's perfect for him-- "This just in-- you're a dead fit". She's sexy AND has an amazing personality ["Provocative and talkative"] but instead of trying to get to know her, he's just using his wit and way with words to get in her pants because he's too shallow to stick around and find out just how amazing this particular girl is. He just wants sex. But I think he ends up realizing that she IS an amazing person-- though that doesn't necessarily mean he's going to stick around for her. That's what I think he means by the "we all have teeth that can bite underneath...that's where mine go" lines. |
