A Perfect Circle – Magdalena Lyrics 19 years ago
Rofl XD

"(There is a lot of proof in the bible," - perfectcurse

That's all I have to say on that matter.

Secondly, no-one here is in any position as to say whether or not Maynard IS religious, less so the group as a whole, because each one could believe something different.

That said, it is LIKELY that he is not religious, but takes a keen interest in it, or perhaps actively fights against parts of it which he disagrees with. Just because he says he's not trying to knock religion in an interview doesn't mean he believes it. If he were to discriminate or say he doesn't like religion/religious people, it could damage is fan-base.

As it's been pointed out there are tons of leads in his songs to suggest that he "disapproves" of some, if not many, of the elements in religions such as Christianity.
I know his songs are often double-barrelled, but just listen to Judith - the message is overall pretty loud and clear. Some seem to believe that he believes in God simply because he you can't dislike something that doesn't exist, but I don't believe in God, and I still don't like him.

The only thing that could prove anything is word
straight from Maynard's mouth.

I actually don't think this song is that bad, I quite enjoy listening to alot of Living Syndication stuff, like Choke - if you like APC then I suggest you give it a listen to.

I don't like the way the guitar drowns out the singing alot later in 13 Minutes, it's not very harmonic.. but to each their own. Don't knock a song just because it turns out not to be by APC. Any song with a hinting of emotion is good, whether or not you enjoy it - just because you can't relate to it doesn't mean no-one else can. Even if no-one but the writers relate to it, that's all that's important (unless you're just trying to be famous).

While I'm here I'd also like to say that I wish people would stop idolizing Maynard so much, that's exactly what people do for bands like the Backstreet Boys, the kind of thing Maynard would likely disapprove of.

A Perfect Circle isn't Maynard; it's a GROUP of people which happens to include him. There's no doubt that he's a magnificent artist/master of music, but the band isn't all about him - there are plenty of other members, and I bet they all have bits of input which add up to make it the songs you know and love.

To all you people I'm talking about, give the rest of the band some bloody credit, and learn to idolize the "group", not just the front-man.

Someone please correct me if Maynard actually writes the lyrics AND all the music for each instrument - if that were the case, I would worship him and him alone.

Living Syndication – 13 Minutes Lyrics 19 years ago
I've loved this song for a year now but until just today didn't even know it was by Living Syndication. In fact, I didn't know they existed.
Several of their songs (namely Choke, Believe and 13 Minutes) are named as written by A Perfect Circle in LimeWire, which is very misleading especially considering that at times the voice of the singer sounds alot like Maynard of Tool/A Perfect Circle.
I know it's been pointed out under the comments for "Choke" that other people are aware of something like this, but I figured I'd just say it's happened for more than one of their songs.

I feel bad for Living Syndication and feel they probably aren't getting the credit they deserve for these great songs.

I also believe there's a line missing at the beginning of these lyrics that's in the song. It sounds to me like "It's funny when things go wrong,", but of course I wouldn't bet a dollar on my judgement.
