Fucking amazing song, been waiting for new coldplay for a while. I believe its about the concept of information and how it affects the people, for example, the more they know, the more they become aware of the problems and such, but eventually it becomes a problem, information can be very tricky and this song is about that, how a son asks his father about the world and the father explains to him how the world works, the chorus: "if you love, won't you let me know". That's the son talking, "why won't you let me know?", "the world is a horrible place son, you are better off not knowing some stuff", so yeah, the father is telling his story and the son just wants to know more and more, but the father knows what information can do to people, because it happened to him. |
