| Pink – Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) Lyrics

I really, really hate the part where she's claiming he's never dealt wit hard work. It's hypocritical. I highly doubt she's the most unfortunate, poverty-stricken person in the world.
People are gonna have opinions, but this song has made me lose quite a bit of respect for Pink. After all of her little pop songs about drugs and her crap like that, people love her. Obviously she's made mistakes. Bush has made mistakes. He's the freaking President. That, in my opinion, is one of the most draining roles you could have in our country because of all the crap he has to put up with.
Also, I think our country would be worse off with Pink as President. She should think before she rants in a song.
I'm pretty much in favor of stopping the war at this point, because it seems like there's nothing being accomplished. But I still support Bush. |

| Sixpence None the Richer – Don't Dream It's Over Lyrics

I always thought this song was about a relationship. The singer is talking about their fights and arguments ('Battles'). She's saying that no matter what, they have a good relationship and will make it through. The chorus is saying, 'Don't dream it's over,' as in don't wish to end the relationship because we both know things will turn out fine after this.
Unfortunately, that doesn't really cover the second and third verses. :( So I don't know. That's just what I think. |

I like this song. You could be a Gemini Capricorn, depending on your birth sign and what house your sign is in. Also by your sun sign, or something like that. You actually can have numerous 'signs'. And the porn thing... I'm sure lots of females have a negative image toward a man's sexuality. It's not farfetched or anything in my opinion. |

| Jimmy Eat World – Authority Song Lyrics

I used to think some parts of it were mocking the President and Government. For instance, the title is 'The Authority Song'. I don't really know why, I just thought it made sense in the chorus... It's ironic because he says 'I have no secret purpose', then says, 'I don't seem obvious, do I?' giving himself away. Was this song already out when the Government was considering monitering random phone conversations? I could see this making sense there, maybe.. |

Annna, maybe you should take a look at it through God's point of view. The main reason people are sent to Hell is because they don't accept Jesus as their Savior. (This is according to Christian beliefs, I'm not sure what religion you participate in.) How would you feel if you sent your only son to Earth only to be mocked and brutally killed for any living thing's sins, only to find that there are some people who still don't believe it. It's not hard to understand, in my opinion.. |

Yeah, I know there are like 20 posts about the Invisible Monsters allusion, but.. I think the entire song references that book. Every single line has something to do with the book.
I'm sure that it is possible that Choke and Survivor and maybe even Lullaby are referenced as well, but Invisible Monsters is the only one I've read as of now so I can't really judge on those.. But yeah.
I adore this song. I heard it before I started reading Invisible Monsters, and during the part that says "She never fixes things, but at least she makes me forget" part I'm like wait, there's got to be something deeper there, because very rarely do they come out so straightforward in their lyrics about that kind of thing. And I'm over three-quarters through the book, and I now see so much of it in the song. =] |

Gah. Don't hate me for this, but:
I love the music, the lyrics are great for all the songs.. But the lead singer's voice just about ruins the songs for me on the majority of them. I don't know why I dislike the sound of his voice, I just don't think it sounds good.
I did think he sounded better in Swing Life Away, though. |

Yeah. I submitted this and I'm the first comment. Lol. But yeah I love this song. Everything about it. The melody, the way the instruments sound kind of misty and far-away, like distant (..Yes I know that probably doesn't make sense.) And especially Courtney's voice. It sounds amazing in this song. Beautiful. |

This is a very sweet song. I think the song is about a couple (or, ex-couple) that maybe don't still have romantic feelings for each other (or maybe they do), but just wish that they could've treated each other better. Explaining why they each made it hard for the relationship to work.
I think Sting and Sheryl sound great together. Perfect people to sing this song.
It's very pretty.. I like it! :D |

When I hear this song, I always imagine two teenagers, a guy and a girl, the guy possibly a little older, running around outside at night on an old railroad. Mostly because the song mentions train tracks, lol. It paints a beautiful picture in your mind, and I think Katy is a lyrical genius, especially being so young.. This song is amazing. |

I adore this song. The first time I heard it was on that movie "The Hot Chick." Lol. The chorus was playing during a part when Jessica and her boyfriend Billy were together, I believe. The words are very deep.. I think Butch Walker is a lyrical genius. I didn't know he wrote this about 9-11, or about a friend dying of cancer, but I can see where it would make sense for both. |

Very interesting.. I think it's about Umm.. Well in my opionion it's pretty self explainatory! About the singer being dissappointed in the world today, and the people living in it. That's how I'd put it. I like this song alot =) |

I agree with you, Vox pd. I also kinda get somethin else from this song.. The first time I heard it was like a few days after the first time I saw Thirteen Ghosts.. If you've seen it. I can just like picture the Angry Princess saying some of the quotes from this song. ("My veins are sweetly singing while blood drains from my cup.") I don't know why. You might have to know her story (how she died) to get that. I love this song though. I love any of Katy's songs. She has an amazing way of spilling thoughts into songs, especially for a teenager. |
