I can't believe no one has commented on this song. I love Natalie Portman's Shaved Head; I saw them live with CSS and the Go! Team a while ago..it was a sick concert. Basically this song is about a girl who's hot, but gossips and talks behind people's back. All the guys love her, but she ends up breaking their hearts. Pretty straight-forward :) |

Beccaboohoo: I agree with you: Sunshine is actually a slang word for coccaine, and it totally fits with the song: "Oh my sunshine even though your skies are blue You're drying up my bed" This could be saying even though you may seem like you're good from the outside - even though you're skies are blue - you (coccaine) actually are hurting me "drying up my bed" "Someday you will get the best of me Oh someday probably when I'm old and grey" One day his addiction to Sunshine (coccaine) will "get the best of him" and ultimately kill him. Thats a possibility of what the song could be - the upbeat tempo could just be exactly how coccaine is - all happy and exciting and such on the outside, but solemn once you get to thinking about it. Although, that last part is quite a big stretch. It could also - of course - be about love, or maybe an addiction to a love that is bad for him? I don't know. But I love the song |

I think this song's kind of about the innocence of youth, and how sometimes when you're younger, you think that nothing can really stop you. I dunno, I think it's kind of like, he thought he was invincible, but he wasn't "Can't wait to screw this up" When he says he has a girlfriend, and that "We'll probably get married" I think it's about how they most likely won't, which in my mind is backed up by the lines "And it's been autumn since the day that I met you" Most people relate love to a summer's day, and he's relating this to autumn, so it's like..maybe he doesn't love her? Or he thought he did, but he doesn't? "If I hit bottom, must I crawl out alone?" His girlfriend might have left him (hitting bottom), and he has to crawl out alone, or something of that sort..maybe his girlfriend isn't there for him all the time "And I don't wish to know the secrets of summer at all" He doesn't want to know what love is?
