The chorus isn't contradictory, I think it means like if she has no money... like if SHE is broke, she's got her home to go back to. Like, her dad's got her back. To me this means something totally different to most of the posts. To me this is about a boy who found out his girlfriend kissed another guy. He took her back because 'it was only a kiss'. But he keeps imagining her with every other guy she speaks to or has contact with -"she's taking a drag" so the next thing he imagines is her 'going to bed' with him. he has to be cool with what happened- "gotta gotta be down" because he wants her -"want it all" Yet he still doesn't believe what she says- "Choking on sick alibis." But then he realises that he has her - "Open up my eager eyes" And at least that's the brightside "I'm mister brightside" |
