It's called "Came Back To Show You I Could Fly". its about a girl much like angela (called angie!!) , I doubt if it has anything to do with this song, but i wondered if anyone else had read the book and noticed the similarities? | |

this song makes me think more about "special two" than "the river", because its all about temptation. i definitely think its about cheating as opposed to domestic violence, especially with lines like the one about how he "opened his hand and she held it like sinking sand" and all the apple references are biblical references about temptation. probably more likely to be tempted to cheat on your wife than to hit your family? i love the fact that despite the references to eve, its the man who's been unfaithful. LOVE this song soo much. |

i dont see why we shouldnt say so if we like or dislike the song. whether we like it or hate it influences how we interpret it. i think the site could probably do without the swearing and abusing of people's names, because i hate to sound cliched but in the end its about the music isnt it? sorry if i offended. i love this song!! and what i actually wanted to know is is this the origninal of this song? |

i think this song is anti religious. i think the three wise men have turned away from god, as has James Blunt. hes saying look, im doing okay, the wisemen are doing okay, where the hell are you? your up there on a cloud with no one. hes actually abusing god, implying that there is no personal contact, god is just an ideal. the wisemen, who blunt identifies with, defied god, came down from heaven and smoked lots of shit, and were rejected by god for defying him in not living pure lives. the lines "They got caught up in your talent show With you pernickety little bastards in your fancy dress Who just judge each other and try to impress" i think are about the different christianity branches, and how the original ideas of love etc. are lost under layers of fakeness, religious figures in their fancy outfits trying to impress god with all the "love" they have which isnt real. so maybe the song is more anti church than anti god. does all that make sense? im not a bible freak thats just how i interpreted the song. what does everyone think? wow i went on a while longer than i meant to... |
