Utada Hikaru – Workout, The Lyrics 17 years ago
Just because I either didn't see that comment or whatever the heck happened is no reason to be snotty at me, mercercy. And unless you happen to be Hikaru Utada, don't give it to me "blunt". I don't like it when people refuse to accept other people's opinions-- take it or leave it, my view is just as valid as yours. My opinion has many valid points, as I discussed in my previous post, and if you refuse to see that it makes some measure of sense, you could at least allow me to have my own opinion.

Sick Puppies – Howards Tale Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that he was sexually molested until he was nine, as it says after that verse "Now it's over. I need closure." But no one wants to talk about it and screws up his life. Because of the abuse, he's confused about his sexual orientation and thinks that he's gay but that also brings up the idea of the abuse. Then I think at the end he's trying to figure out for certain.

Utada Hikaru – Workout, The Lyrics 18 years ago
Boy I hope "Morphix" was joking about thinking the song was about drugs... That doesn't make sense...

I'm fairly sure this song is about phone sex. It's the only thing that fits with the 6.0 line, the bouncing between talking to people, paying another dime a minute to talk on the phone, getting a call on the other line, etc. It also fits the "put me down" part, as in "putting down a phone."

Velvet Revolver – Sucker Train Blues Lyrics 19 years ago
Okay, I decided that I definitely needed to comment on this song since no one used this as anything other than a "this song rocks" kind of post. That's great and all, but really.

With "come on motherfuckers and deliver the cow," you know the saying "well, don't have a cow?" He's saying just come on and get it over already.

This song is about someone's despair about themselves and how they don't believe that they can really be helped "don't look at me now, your wings won't hold." He believes that he is now "running with the devil" and that he can't be saved, even though he wants it.

I don't get the "Johnny" part, though.

Nine Inch Nails – The Collector Lyrics 19 years ago
This song actually has a lot to do with the song from Downward Spiral: The Ruiner. The word "collector" is used in both lyrics. Now he's the ruiner, the collector, rather than the wronged party. And he uses the word "pig" when referring to himself, which is one more indicator that he is the bad person now.

The lyrics above are so wrong that I could cry. They need to be completely redone. It's "all your HURT sticks on me", and the line "but they start to breathe, and they start to grow inside me" is more or less missing. Oh, just look up the lyrics or listen to the song. Someone needs to fix those lyrics.

Anyway, this song is about being trapped, plain and simple, and trying to cope.
