I have always interpreted these lyrics as though they are spoken through the mind of a serial killer. He has his next victim and he's starting his mind game on her. He's paranoid and not sure yet how strong she is... It sounds like she has been there long enough to see what he's done to the ones before her and he's trying to dehumanize her so he can kill her... "No more pretending We're all alone I want to hear just why you left us all We really loved you But now you're cold I'm sorry that you're next to go" ..and it sounds like she gave him a good fight before he finally got her trapped again... and others are there too, either alive or their dead bodies are still there...
