Okay........first of all if you have ever seen the movie "The Joy Luck Club" you will understand this song. It's about the discovery of finding out that she doesn't have to make the mistakes her mother made and the generations before her (i was locked into being my mother's daughter i was just eating bread and water thinking nothing ever changes) she can LEAVE. The further away she gets (out of range)from that influence the more likely she can become a strong, independant woman with boundries (i try to draw the line but it ends up running down the middle of me most of the time) in her relationships |
