In your fourth stanza, here are the correct lyrics: And if he wants he'll have a nap And dream his black bear dreams That I could only dream of Like I dream to drink from streams Looks like a typo more than anything, but thought I'd put it out there. Also "It takes coffee, pot, they cost a lot, just to stay abreast" are the correct lyrics. lol - coffee pots... |

I think it's about someone who continues to try to be kind to someone whose heart they broke, and sometimes it's better to cut the cord because you continue to love them more when they're kind to you when you're still enamoured. Also, I think some of these lyrics are a little bit off. Line8: Will fall through. Line 27: instead of You’re coming out of bed, I believe it's "You're coming of age." And what I have for that whole second to last stanza sounds more like this in my head: Like two ships passing in the night We're gone Only the moon and the stars in the sky Did know to cry for me as I sailed on Why can't you see it now? You're reckless and in love Your heart's boiling over Oh, why can't you see it now? You're coming of age |
