Lene Alexandra – My Boobs Are OK Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – O'Malley's Bar Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is amazing! I don't find it funny though. In the beginning I'm grooving along, but then everything gets way over the line, and I can't groove to it any more because of anger, sadness and some feeling of anxiety (imagining if you were in the bar) caused by this fucking narcissistic, egocentrical bastard. I don't know what is going on in Cave's depressing, death-loving mind, but this song is awesome anyways! It's truly fantastic, really. |
Beirut – Carousels Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Seeing that they are on a Ferris Wheel, and he sings "Where would we be now if I had taken your hand?" it probably means that she falls from the Ferris Wheel. Maybe it's about someone - a childhood friend? - dying, or it is more of a metaphor of something else. |
Kaizers Orchestra – 170 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is beautiful. Translating the text removes the unique way of writing that people in Norway recognize easily, and makes this song so damn moving that it never fail to give me shivers. |
Patrick Wolf – Wind in the Wires Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I go to a dreamland in this song, it's so airy and majestic in the first part. It feels as a bird flying over a landscape, and it just transides into gazing at the sea. The raindrops are there, and then the wave rushes in. It gives me shivers all down my spine. It really makes me feel free. I have no interest in analyzing it to find it's correct meaning. It's just the emotional sensation it gives me. |
Interpol – Take You on a Cruise Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Why Norway? What do they want there? First I have to say that Interpol must be a bit fond of Norway because of the "We are sailing to Norway"-line, but they also wrote a song entitled with the name of a Norwegian traveller, Leif Erikson, the first person to discover America. That is also ship-related, too. Not that it have to mean something, just something I would like to point out. Also, what can the line mean? Well, Norway is (officially) the best place to live in. It could be a metaphor of a relationship going well, or it could mean that he wants to start a new life there with his love. Norway might also be considered a very remote country (though there are countries more remote), so he just simply wants to sail forever with her. But Norway is also (somewhat falsely) considered a very cold country, but I don't know what you might get out of that. Haha. All this out of one line, how great. |

It's She Spider. |
Mew – Comforting Sounds Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Heh, Mew does make you pretty nostalgic. |
Mew – Circuitry of the Wolf Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this awesome instrumental describes something new. Almost like an apocalypse. You can hear the chaotic resemblance at once, something eerie is going on and BAM! Everything is destroyed, and Chinaberry Tree is after it stops. What kind of change is it? I think it's simply a way to say that this album is not like Frengers. This is a different Mew. Mew changed. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 8 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
As I've interpreted the last half, this is after a boy has found his village burnt up, and his girlfriend dying besides him. He walks through the forest where he was at the beginning. At the beginning, his mind wanders through a lot of thoughts. Mostly joyful nostalgia about that girl, but it is mixed up with a sad atmosphere, because she now is gone. After over five minutes, he gets sadder, and mourns over his loss. After six minutes, the mourning turns into anger, and he is now doing things without thinking. He pics up a stone and starts running. Sad and angry. He enters a deep pond in the middle of the forest, and ties the rock to his feet. He sits on top of a plateu over the pond, his heart beating faster, faster. And he is looking down the bottomless water, he rises up on his feet, and jumps after nine and a half minutes. He is now underwater, it gets silent, until the body needs oxygen, and he swims up to get air, but the rock holds him down. And then he drowns... If you saw what I wrote about every track on the last part, kudos to you. I feel satisfied with my interpretation and this is the most dramatic and exciting part of the whole album. I love this track, and I love this album. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 7 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I've pictured the last half of the album as someone walking through a forest looking for a girl, finding his village ruined, he then walks through the village hoping to see the girl among the dead people, and he does. Now he wakes up, with the sunrise and looks over the ruined village. He talks to her, but doesn't get an answer, he gets terrified after a bit over 4 minutes, but then she answers him, although it is not happy words, she is dying, and suddenly stops speaking. The boy screams her name, and gets into a state of denial, until he realizes that she really is dead. He thinks over everything they've done. After ten minutes, the sadness overflows him, and he repeatedly screams her name. The track ends with him crying silently besides her. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 6 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I feel this is after the character (that I've pictured) finds his village ruined, and he now walks through it, shouting the girl's name. Hoping the best, expecting the worst. The drums kind of describes the emptiness of his lonely steps, as the other instruments are very echo-esque. After three and a half minutes, he realizes that she is gone, as everyone in the village. But he keeps looking, as it is the only thing he can do. After almost six minutes, he sees something, and starts to scream, until he finally meets her and he is surprised and joyful. The atmosphere is very ironic and has contrasts, the joy of seeing her is mixed with the sorrow of the ruined village. They fall asleep, and track 6 is finished. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 5 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
For me, it sounds like someone walking through a dark, wet forest, probably looking for someone. There is something special about the atmosphere, and he is worried about the person and wants to get her home, and he shouts at her, wondering where she is, and the way home for that matter. The drums describes his uneasy feet. After about eight minutes, he sees something that worries him, and he starts running towards it. The sight is worrying. It is his village, in flames. He stops in shock on the top of the hill, with the forest behind him, looking down at the village. It is now ruined. Track 5 is over. |
Mew – Say You're Sorry Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow. Huge Shoegaze/My Bloody Valentine-reference in this song. |
Mew – The Seething Rain Weeps For You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is obviously about someone who is dead. Because if it was a break-up, no friends would speak about the girl, also, it is written in the style of a speech for a funeral. The sadness is all over. The lump in his throat, and even the rain weeps for the loss. Can't understand phrase no. 3 and 4 except for the obvious parts, but then he just tells that the sadness and dark days are like dark clouds which will rain down (as seething rain that weeps), and then they will disappear. "From my window I watch the day go by" - He waits for the dark clouds to disappear. |
Mew – Chinaberry Tree Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It seems that as this song progresses, he turns from being with her to (suddenly) not being with her. At the beginning everything seems fine. He mentions that he didn't see the chinaberry tree. The chinaberry tree is the one that will break them apart. Because chinaberry trees are poisonous, and they sprout at places you don't want them. He also sings that everything is heavenly, and that a life withouth the you-person is hard to picture. So everything is fine, you can hear that by the music and the wonderful lead guitar but suddenly, the mood darkens. "For the remainder of the war" could mean that "you" left because of something in the past, and he couldn't let that go carelessly away, because he cares and is there. This is proven by him describing sleeping problems, sadness and a need for someone who cares. |
Bright Eyes – Another Travelin' Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I've always thought this song is about Writers Block. Maybe I didn't care to analyze it. (Yet.) |
Kaizers Orchestra – Naade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This seems like it is a prayer to Jesus. Someone is misunderstood and was sentenced for something he didn't do, but nobody listens to him. "Og når me møtes ved porten så please vis meg nåde" |
Rainbow – Catch The Rainbow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Oh, and by the way. I have an own interpretation. At least about the chorus. It seems that it means that "they" have believed in a perfect world, or an afterlife, but just found out that their own life is(/was?) the only they have(/had). Because after all, life is not a wheel with chains made of steel, i. e. it doesn't last forever. |
Rainbow – Catch The Rainbow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
What does the phrase "come the dawn" mean? |
Kaizers Orchestra – Min Kvite Russer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
My "White Russians" The moon is full tonight It's just as white and full* as Me and my best friend If I jump off my balcony The wind will carry me and my perisol Cause he gives me a dream He never gives me nightmares So remember not to smoke me lonely Smoke with me my white russian The moon is full again It's just as white and full* as Me and my best friend He never argues with me It has always been us two We have a stable communication Cause he gives me a dream Never gives me a nightmare So remember not to smoke me lonely Smoke with me my white russian The moon is just half tonight But I'm just as white and full* anyway Because Margarita became jealous So I tasted a bit of her Cause she can also give me a dream She would never give me a nightmare So remember not to smoke me lonely Smoke with me my white russian *) Here: Full = Drunk |
Kaizers Orchestra – Naade Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Mercy Greet your father Say that I am doing fine, in spite of all In spite of everything you've been told In spite of everything that went bad And that I've got a life sentence But you with your wisdom Must understand that I know nothing about that murder And when we meet by the gate Please, show me mercy |
Kaizers Orchestra – Container Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Dumpster You should be scared Now everybody's got to save their own skin You should be frightened When not even the devil is laughing Have you seen it before You haven't Now the day has come Bid a last farewell Just start running, 1, 2, 3 Try to run away from him, 1, 2, 3 There's always room for one more In his dumpster, so come on First man up will be the first man down He gets the last word No matter what happens And the warmth on your neck Is his breath You know it will be hot; right Right; you know it will be hot |
Kaizers Orchestra – De Involverte Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Those Involved I have wounds from betrayals I need to get this bandage off I walk over dead bodies Over your plantation Up to your floor To those informed I have the names of those involved Oh Sonny, you're my own Sonny Light shines through bars Even if the doorways closed I've never been bitter And there's no one else I'd rather have as mine While I'm among those arrested Because I have the name of those involved Oh Sonny, you're my own Sonny You've got to take my word As your father did Put the cards on the table And promise me you'll never Take your walking shoes off Or the clothes you're sleeping in Before you've taken care of those involved Oh Sonny, you're my own Sonny Put your hand on the window Before you leave Say your last goodbye Now that you get what's written In this letter All the names of those involved Oh, Sonny |
Kaizers Orchestra – Hevnervals Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I've stared through bars for one year I have chains between my legs when I walk I'm the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time There's no doubt, I'm ruled by fate I was asked to take care of Rosalyn At St. Peters Square one evening in Aberdeen At one time it looked bright for the both of us But the lamp ran out of kerosene Cross your fingers, put a cross around your neck Fold your hands if you believe they have More power than this waltz Ask me again in 2 years And you'll get a different answer Because I said there were two men in this dance But it depends on who saw Revenge is sweet to those who wait I know the names of those involved Some of them have been informed They are no longer my acquaintances You see when lightning strikes Get down on your knees, look towards the heaven and pray |
Kaizers Orchestra – Drøm Hardt Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Please send me more liquor Let us drink like swines Something to sleep on It will be a long night So dream hard The stars said you'd have a long life You should not have listened to them You should have stayed on the straight and narrow Only one night left So much you should have dreamt All we can do is help you on your way Tomorrow you've got to take the last steps And I understand if you ask Was this life? was this all? - This seems like it is a song about a persons last living day, and his friends are with him drinking themselves drunk and way beyond, just to give him a worthy last day. |
