| Blind Guardian – Lionheart Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I could see how this could be about Roland's journey beneath Lud. "Speak to me It all would be easier I want to talk to you" Could be Roland wanting to communicate with Oy as they followed the trail of Gasher and Jake. I guess maybe Jake would be the "Lionheart" that the song refers to. "Drown here in the silence" is probably referring to what would happen if Oy lost Jake's scent beneath Lud, how Roland would be stranded in complete darkness and silence. There are some references from the Odyssey in this song that don't really connect with The Dark Tower. |

Excellent song. Viking Metal for the win. Though, I'm pretty sure some of those lyrics are wrong. It should be "Fire! His hate is pure, see the lightning strike!" Not rage. |

| Blind Guardian – Carry The Blessed Home Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Btw, the line "In this haze of green and gold, he's gone." refers to Jake Chambers' resting place where Roland buried him in the woods; it being late in the afternoon in a wooded area/forest. | |
| Demons and Wizards – Seize The Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's a sorta of fusion of BOTH Steven King's Dark Tower and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. "The Tower knows who you are" could be said about both books, because both Towers knew the protagonists. "The western shore" implies Roland of Gilead, as that's where part of his journeys led him. "The road goes on and on" is a line from one of Bilbo's songs. | |

About Dildo Saggins... er, I mean Bilbo Baggins, a mention of the one ring, his journey with Gandalf and the Dwarves, and the Battle of Five Armies. An awesome song. Lawl... Hobbit buttcheeks. |

I definitely think this, and Precious Jerusalem are about Jesus of Nazareth. It speaks of his life and of his death. It talks of his doubts, Judas' betrayal, and I think his views on wars taken in his name. I hadn't thought of the Dune aspect, but that is an interesting thought; though not much of the song could be tied with it. |

| Blind Guardian – Mordred's Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song could also be depicted about Mordred Deschain, Son of Roland Deschain of Gilead in The Dark Tower series. Makes me think of how he loathes his father and being alone. A very evil character. It's a shame he was only in the book for a short time. |

Yes, damn Peter Jackson to hell. I haven't heard the Acoustic version, but the orchestral version is my favorite. I can see everything when I listen to it; the land, the companions, the Dark Lord. It's very moving, especially to this ol' LOTR nerd lol. Blind Guardian did an excellent job with this song. |

| Blind Guardian – The Soulforged Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I agree with ThexSoulforged about Blind Guardian doing an awesome job depicting Raistlin in this song. Most of Blind Guardian's songs inspired by literature are very catchy and hit very close to the mark. |

| Blind Guardian – Another Stranger Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this is another Dark Tower inspired song, about Roland of Gilead as he "draws the three", slowly loosing sanity in the process of remembering the boy, Jake chambers. | |
| Blind Guardian – Carry The Blessed Home Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's about Roland of Gilead and Jake Chambers, Roland's emotions after he dies and as he approaches the Dark Tower. "The Red Fields of None" gives it away. For some reason, the lyrics here say "Red Fields of Blood" ------- Can'-Ka No Rey: the red fields of none, where the Dark Tower lies. |

| Metallica – The Call of Ktulu Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Definitely my favorite instrumental by Metallica. 3 of my favorite Metallica songs in general are The Thing That Should Not Be, The Frayed Ends of Sanity, and of course, The Call of Ktulu. I'm a big Lovecraft fan and I've read every bit I've been able to find and get my hands on; I'm a bit of a junkie for it. When listening to the song, be it the original or S&M version, I like to turn it up really loud, make sure the lighting is dim, if not dark; then I just close my eyes and relax into my chair as I follow the movements. I can see it all in my head as I listen; the cultists, Hydra, Dagon, and the rest of the Great Old Ones waiting within a violent sea as the ancient city of R'lyeh rises from the deep, awakening the terrible Cthulhu. It's some pretty epic shit. I've described what I see to a friend of my in excruciating detail and he asked if I was on acid at the time haha. I've always wanted to see a good artist/animator like Todd McFarlane to create videos for the songs, especially The Call of Ktulu | |
| Metallica – The Thing That Should Not Be Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm a big fan of Lovecraft and an even bigger fan of Metallica. The two combined kick all sorts of ass. The Call of Ktulu, The That Should Not Be, and The Frayed Ends of Sanity are 3 of my favorite songs. I hope they do some more Cthulhu inspired songs on their newest album. That would be most good, Noland. Most good. | |
| Metallica – The Frayed Ends of Sanity Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I always thought the line was "As I wait for the horror sea brings." Cliff having been a fan of H.P. Lovecraft. Combined with the feel and other themes in the songI thought it was another song inspired by Cthulhu Mythos. I still think it is because on live versions and record versions, it doesn't sound like he's saying "She brings". That's just my opinion, though. | |
| Metallica – Dyers Eve Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| "Unspoiled, unspoken; I've outgrown that fucking lullaby." This line always reminds me of what it was like to break away, ya know?; say "fuck this." They tell you things, how to behave, how to act; programing you pretty much. Every time I hear that line, it makes me happy, reminding me when i actually did break away; like a veil was lifted and shackles were let loose. like I said in my previous post, this song always fills me with a mixture of emotions. | |
| Metallica – Dyers Eve Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song describes me entire childhood. sure, some parents care too much for their children and try and shield them from this ugly place we live; but not mine. especially my mother. abusive, and sadistic. my brother and sister used to take the abuse because, as children, she would always scare us into thinking that we couldn't survive w/o her. through years and years of school, she never paid us any mind; as long as she could sit on the couch smoking cigarettes, drinking pepsi, and watching t.v., she would be happy. if we accomplished anything, it went unnoticed, on the other hand if we did something wrong, or failed at something; she would come down on us like fire and brimstone. dad, as long as he had beer and weed, we were invisible and when he didn't; he was as bad as she was. everytime i listen to the song, i am overwhelmed with a warmness because someone besides me understands the torment i went through; yet a silent rage building inside causing me to remember all that had happened. this song is me; line for line, word for word. | |
