Yeah Tranchan hit it dead on. At first I thought the song was kinda racist and mean, but it's really just commentary on facing racism and hate. After one of their shows John said that it was about living in a rough part of NYC, and how people made racist comments to him, made fun of how he dressed and then some. He said he was feeling very bitter about all that stuff when he was writing it. |

This one strikes a chord, to say the least. When I first heard this song I had a relationship with a guy that was just like this, we liked each other a lot but too many things kept us apart (me leaving for college 500 miles away, him having a gf, my over protective parents) fun things like that. Favorite line by far- "You don't even have to speak because I can hear your heartbeat Fluttering like butterflies searching for a drink" ...so true. We don't talk anymore, but I still love this song. Brings back good memories. |

This song hits a little close to home for me, too. But in a different way. A guy I was hooking up with (friend with benefits?) has sent me these lyrics via email and kept them as an away message for the past week or so, ever since I called it off with him and told him I now have a boyfriend. Good fun. Now I'm apparently dead to him, he's kinda moody like that. All the same...I kinda like the song. |
