If Layne promoted drug use don't you think he'd sing positive things instead of dark and negative? AiC didn't promote drug use. Go read an interview about how an AiC fan went up to Layne and gave him the thumbs up and told him he was high. That wasn't what him and the rest of AiC set out to do, especially after Dirt was released. Like the person above said GO READ SOME INTERVIEWS! |

I suggest to anyone that doesn't know anything about AiC to go do their research on them. This song is about Layne's father and how he used to put him on the chair, also his father left when Layne was very young which didn't help Layne any and when Layne got famous with AiC his father saw a picture of him and actually contacted him which wasn't too smart on his part because his mother had told him that his father had died. Back to when his father found him.. he wound up doing drugs with his Dad which wasn't what he wanted to do because he wanted to quit. Phil Staley however is alive and clean.. Layne.. well, we all know what happened to him. :-( RIP Layne!!! |

Anyone that has had any kind of addiction to ANYTHING can totally relate to this song. I love this song and the way it flows. Some people think that Layne was telling them to go do drugs but in fact he was doing the opposite. I remember an article I read last night about how he did an AiC show and someone came up to him and gave him the thumbs up because he was high and Layne said that's not what he wanted to happen. And Drugs are shit. Trust me I know.. |

Well considering Layne really wanted to quit Heroin this is about him telling US (the fans) not to follow what he's doing. If you listen to a lot of the songs by them some of the songs talk about how drugs have ruined him. I still don't freaking understand how noone checked on him to make sure he was ok. I know if he was part of my family I would've busted the door down in order to help him. |

Some of you people fail to realize that if you actually did your research like I have you'd know that this song was about Andrew Wood like a few other people above have said. Yeah Layne had an addiction that doesn't mean that every song AiC ever did was about heroin and he was trying to tell the fans that doing drugs was NOT Cool. Read his interview with Adriana Rubio. |

I'm in agreement here that this song has to do with loving someone, and yeah the way Layne sings it sounds like he's trying to reach out for help but doesn't really know how. You can interpret the song however you want but only the members of the group know what it was written about. This is one of my favorite AiC songs because of things I've gone through in the past. |

This song is most likely about Layne doing something to hurt Demri because they broke up in 93/94 which wasn't that long after Dirt was released, and she passed in 96 from Bacterial Endocartis. I love Rain when i die because it's how I feel sometimes. RIP Layne & Demri. Layne I hope you're making beautiful music up there with all the other musical legends! All of us AiC fans miss you! |
