The Beatles – She's Leaving Home Lyrics 17 years ago
Ok, this might be a bit late, but I think this song is about a pregnancy. I can't think of what Beatle it might be bout, but I think it's either about a girl having a baby or an abortion. A girl leaves her parents with something living inside her that, that is always denied. And the man she keeps the appointment with. Meh, me just thinks this has to do with an unwanted pregnancy or abortion. Hopefully not the 2nd.

The Beatles – Here Comes the Sun Lyrics 17 years ago
Well besides all the obvious positive stuff, I wonder if it also has to do with the group as a whole. I've heard when they were recording Abbey Road they were overall happier and worked more together than they had for the past few years. Maybe kind of like after some breakups, you actually enjoy that other persons company again, even if for a short time. Well, the choruses mention smiles returning to their faces, and ice slowly melting, and it seeming like years since thats been the case. I don't know, nothing too deep but maybe a commentary on how the band seems at the time, knowing it's over.

Bright Eyes – An Interview with Conor Oberst Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the parts describing the symbolism of fevers, mirrors, scales and clocks is probably fairly true. I mean thats not really out there and seems like its pretty fitting. And the part about his music ideas being universal, and personal.

Bright Eyes – An Interview with Conor Oberst Lyrics 18 years ago
He has said some parts are somewhat real in this old interview.

When Oberst was putting the CD's package together, he agonized over writing liner notes that would explain what he was trying to convey. He opted against it as being too pretentious, and instead included a nearly 6-minute scripted faux "interview" performed by Todd Baechle and former Lullaby for the Working Class member Matt Silcock. The Oberst character answers questions from a smooth-talking FM radio DJ, who asks about the meaning of the CD's title, its symbolism, and Oberst's depression.

"Some of the answers in the interview are honest," the real Oberst said, "but a bunch is bullshit, mixing truth with falsehood and making it blend together in a surreal sort of way. It's not intended to be a real interview, but some people think it is."

Bright Eyes – Trees Get Wheeled Away Lyrics 19 years ago
As for a literary reference to the virgin in my bed line, it sounds to me like a part of the Bible, i forget which book. King David would have girls brought to him to have sex with(pretty moral, huh?), and in this particular incident she is a virgin. He is very old at this time and doesn't have sex with her. I think it has to do with reflecting on life and what things are worth, which also fits with the rest of the song.

Bright Eyes – Four Winds Lyrics 19 years ago
I really couldn't tell you the meaning, but the west, especially the US is considered and refered to as "The Great Satan" by Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran. And Isreal and the Jewish race are consider whores of Babylon by some Muslims. I guess you could look at it like, if we were to go away or whatever, Isreal would crumble. Since it was basically put in place by the west, the last lines make since. She just can't sustain the pressure where it's placed. She caves. A lot of hostile neighbors. That part seems to make since, but fitting in with the rest, I don't know. Maybe since that whole situation plays such a dominant role in the geopolitical landscape of the region and world really, the lines about burning those holy books might not mean so much that nothing in them is or could be true. I think its saying that the conflicts going on today and forever really have almost nothing to do with the religion, or at least what is written in those. And like someone said, old ideas like those mentioned in the first lines dominate our culture and paradigms of life, but really what do they mean? Nothing except to others. Maybe.

Cursive – Bad Sects Lyrics 19 years ago
Well, first off I know many songs aren't exactly personal. But has anyone else seen "Spend an Evening with Saddle Creek"? After watching that, and a friend listening to this song, it seems like Conor and Tim either have some awkward sexual tension, or else just hhuge crushes on each other. I'm not trying to say that in a bad way at all, but if you see what I'm talking about it really makes you wonder.
