This a song about a guy who is leaving the Love of his love to pursue his career or some other desire of his. He has asked her to come with him but she cant because she is waiting for something, or hoping he will come back soon. Or maybe she is scared to leave the place she has grown to really love. THe lines with all the significance are-" I wont always love what ill never have; i wont always live in my regrets" It tells me he that he is deeply sorry that he is giving her up and leaving her and he knows there is a great risk he might regret this day he decided to leave.
The chorus tells me that he is telling her that she wont find what she is looking for if she stays and does not go with him. I think maybe he wants to marry her- " im here and now im ready" but she is just scared.
He goes and leaves her behind and will cherish what they had forever.

He has lost a girl he loves very much, and hes wondering why it had to be like this. So much has changed in his life and he wants to talk to her about it but he cant because she is not the person he once knew. He also doesnt want to tell her because he thinks she is with someone else. She tells him she is better being by herself, that she does not need anyone. He does not believe her because he questions her in the Lyrics- " is anybody waiting at home for you". He says that time will reveal the truth and he will either be very happy or very angry." time will tell if its heaven or hell". Thats what I get out of the First verse and Chorus- will analyze the rest later. D |

The key to her realising her gifts is to learn to love again and stop playing games, but shes scared because of the pain she has suffered in her past. She gets into relationships but cuts them off before anyone gets in too close. In the End the bigger message is telling us that without Love we can never ever really be who we were made to be, without love life becomes a road to nowhere, we dont have a purpose. By far the best Staind song around!!!! Personally I think old Aron here is singing about a guy who loves this girl so dearly and mayb he was with her for a while but eventually she decided to leave. I think this guy started seeing someone else but didnt truly Love this new partner of his. He is with her, but he cant take it or fake it anymore, he cant fake that he loves her, hes still in love with the other girl who broke his heart. and he wishes to death he didnt feel so much for this girl ( "i dont want this and I dont need this"). What kills him even more is her Apathy... her uninterest.... she has gone on with her life so easily and does not even check in from time to time how he is doing. Tell me what you think of my interpretation. Sweet. D |
