on their original, as well as the daytrotter sessions version of the song, it's "mix a drink." i like going with the original version. plus, i think it sounds better since gin is disgusting.
"this will blow over in time.." so good. anyone that comes from an addictive background can relate to this song. |

i think it's "waiting like a creep outside cotillion. shy expression, shawl on her shoulders" and then "ruin an elegant girls reputation." also trivial, but thought i'd mention it. oh and, "mass lets out, rolling smokes for trades"
i love this song. "i'd like to be there in the morning when you wake up.. maybe pipe dreams" definitely one of their best songs.. too bad they never play it live anymore. |

it is "mix a drink" not "mix a gin"..he says it clearly in all 3 versions of the song that i have.
and, nate [the singer] is telling a story here. he is not the father character. |
