I think this song is about how not even the strongest of us can make it in the hollywood life. We all want to go so far and when we try we fall and crash and all that's left is destroyed, so we try to self-medicate with drugs and some end up turning to suicide. Not everyone can sell their souls for spotlight. |

Honestly this song reminds me of my ex girlfriend Nikole. She's schizophrenic and the line "She's holding out for weapons to kill the ghosts inside
or at least kill the thoughts she has of killing her mind
she says "I love you" with her hands
she says "I hate you" with her eyes"
It reminds me of how whenever she'd have an episode she would sit and cry and tell me how much she just wanted the voices to stop and how she wished they would die. She'd hate me for not having to deal with what she feels but she would hold me as if she would be lost if I wasn't there. It's not what the songs about but it's what the song means to me. I love her very much still. |

This song is amazing. Definitely my favorite B&R song. It was a stupid war but they sacrificed their lives and their innocence to a cause they didn't even understand. They should be honored. I'm not quite sure what I think about the lyrics of this song. I am caught between thinking it's about some kind of addiction and thinking that its a metaphor for the lost innocence of the '50's. It fits both ways. Whichever idea you stand by you have to admit, it's a great song. |

I agree with the fallen idol theory pierrot show gave and I personally think the whole love triangle thing supposed my pinsnneedles is ridiculous. but what really makes me think this song is about someone wanting to kill himself to be immortalised is in the intro, which no one seems to be talking about. The part where he says "Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep" that really gives it away I think but I haven't heard anyone talk about the intro. |
