| Vampire Weekend – Giving Up the Gun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| good call all around. it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the lyrics were meant to exist literally with an overall metaphor. the song being interpreted literally the way you described and with the metaphor being simply about a messy relationship that he still craves and misses. i personally had a similar relationship and the song hits me really hard in that way even if its not what its supposed to mean. | |
| Say Anything – The Truth Is, You Should Lie with Me (feat. Joshua Sultan) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
i think its a song with characters...like radiohead's paranoid android. the first character is max the second is the girl who has this sexy relationship with him or it is just mocking general ideas of casual sex form both genders |

| Moneen – Don't Ever Tell Locke What He Can't Do Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| love it. and it isn't specifically about the show but more just about feelings that the songwriter dude has and he just used the title because its funny and lost owns my soul. and mookowz, youre an idiot. urbanonastick, youre an idiot. | |

| The Spill Canvas – Natalie Marie and 1cc Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| rippedpants11, you are an idiot. obviously it is not talking about "one carbon copy". what the hell does that have to do with this song? brickismyhero, Nick is known for writing stories in his songs that arent really true, such as the tide and self conclusion. | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – Styrofoam Plates Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Forgive Durden – Parable Of The Sower Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this song is about religion and how people have corrupted it. the title of the song is a reference to Luke 8:4 which is also titled "The Parable of The Sower". Luke 8:4 states: "And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: a sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." It is saying that the religious authority has been given to people who are wasting it. Corrupt people are taking over religion. I am not a religious person, but i stumbled upon this one day. I think what really confirmed it for me was the line "faith is less a feeling, more a mandate." i'm pretty positive this is the exact meaning of the song as the band meant it to be, however, i am one to think that a song can have different value to any person, so take it how you want. |

| Gym Class Heroes – Everyday's Forecast Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| wow! people on these boards must be smoking crack like mad! first and foremost to whom it may concern not every underoath song is about god. 2. not every reappearing line is a rip off or a reference. | |
| Taking Back Sunday – Follow The Format Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i love both bands and the early tbs with john nolan but to tell you the truth there are points where lazzara and nolan sound so alike that its not a giant difference in the music. and adam lazarra is hilarious. | |
| Taking Back Sunday – Miami Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| if adam lazarra is a christian then i am a smurf | |
| Escape the Fate – There's No Sympathy for the Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think in their biography it said it was about making use of the chances you have when you have them or something, like that was the bands main concept, with the band name and album title, i dont know if im remembering it exactly, but the apocolypse theory could be correct too. love this band so much. | |
| Underoath – A Boy Brushed Red ... Living In Black And White Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| for all the people arguing about the t&n/ss thing, tooth and nail is basically the indie/emo side of the company and solid state is the metal/screamo side of the company. | |
| Underoath – A Moment Suspended in Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i dont think its specifically about a tornado, but maybe being referenced to. | |
| Underoath – In Regards to Myself Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| btw im not a christian | |
| Underoath – In Regards to Myself Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I totally support UnderOATH's Christian faith and the way they go on about it, but just because their a Christian band doesnt mean every one of their songs has religious meaning. I think the guys in the band make the lyrics so they can be adapted in any way, rather than the way Dallas wrote his lyrics on the first two EP's. The changing of times really changed that, signified by the title. I think spencer is way better than Dallas though, and I like this for an opening song. I think it is generally about being able to control where your life is headed, no matter what you've done or where you've been, but again, it can be taken in many ways, they could mean something different to anybody. | |
| Underoath – Down, Set, Go Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I LOVE THIS SONG! but everyone thinks every underoath song is about a band members sexual relationship and how it affects their christian life, wtf? i can see how you could assume that they are about god, but assuming all the lyrics are about sex? and also, I'm not a christian, but I know christians are allowed to have sex, its not a fucking sin. |

| Underoath – Writing on the Walls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
im pretty sure it says "im short on time"not "i try, i try" or "im sure im tired" it also makes more sense in the song. and i think emolover might be right about it being "i pray for" these lyrics are very alexisonfire style. |

| A Change of Pace – Loose Lips Sink Ships Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The actual lyrics-yes there are differences besides the spacing. look closely. i got these right out of the cd insert. So I made you lie? And we both hope this will pass by Through our life lines standing broken Come on tell me, you cant hurt me. Dont ignore these lies your bleeding. In trans in noise and words and phrases all about you Everyone was so right I know something you dont know You hid something obvious from me I know something you'll never know You hid something obvious from me Envy sets in, and I hate you For what you did I will break you Cry for help now, they cant hear you Here's an offer you cant refuse Scream a little bit louder for me baby Face the truth that you painted so well I know something you dont know You hid something obvious from me I know something you'll never know You hid something obvious from me Scream my name at the top of your lungs Help me to know why I should care Destroy our past, I'll still have these memories That you will never take from me I know something you dont know You hid something obvious from me I know something you'll never know You hid something obvious from me Scream my name! |
