Hmm...Happy Landfill wasn't on Demon Days, but it was on the limited edition DVD. It fits with O Green World if you think about both of them in an environmental way...but both also work when you think about war... It means you got it coming and you ain't got a chain as 2-Dz said, chain can mean weapon... Their only attire Is a typical vice But if it gets you well, well you ain't being nice, no No! War supporters only sound convincing because they're using the typical vices...nationalism, duty to your country, etc... But if you're convinced by them, you're not "being nice" to the country you're fighting... So follow the lives Till they cut up your eyes So keep seeing people killed until the shrapnels explode in your eyes...(maybe a bit too much? hehe...) You won't be even seeing if you ain't growing lies Your eyes will be destroyed by the shrapnels unless you use a weapon (lies) Idk...just my little interpretation for thought ^ ^ |

I might be taking it literally compared to everyone else, but maybe 2-D's lines are more towards the nature aspect... Are 2-D's verses from the same perspective both times? Then whose? I think that his perspective is from the Monkey in the mountain-the monkey knows that the Strangefolk are to be suspected of doing well...strange things! And in the first verse, he speaks of the Strangefolk and everyone as if he knows what's happening. But if that isn't what it means, then the band probably made 2-D's verses different to purposefully make people curious and guess about what the heck he's talking about... |

Perhaps this song can mean more than one thing? In the music video, it shows a bunch of guys in ties sitting around a table. (secret gov. organization) but the lyrics by themselves sound like he's talking about a relationship with a girl, and they broke up (or they're going to), but he can't get over her. I won't let you bury it I won't let you smother it I won't let you murder it "It" is the living, firey passion between them. [this is my favorite part of the song ;) ] I wanted freedom Bound and restricted I tried to give you up But I'm addicted Maybe they're breaking up because he/she wants more space, but he's realized that he's still crazy about her. I feel like the guy in this song really wants to be with a girl who's just a friend, and he's scared that he'll be rejected or that their relationship will eventually come crashing down like all of the others. The more I listen to the lyrics, the more it seems that Davey is a dictator who is in a good place right now, and he wants to stay that way-he doesn't want to fade away and be forgotten. And the guy he sings about in the verses is a successful dictator like him, but he died while he was still popular with the people, so he was still remembered because he went out with a big bang. If you want to think this dictator is supposed to be jesus, go ahead; but I think it's meant to be more hitler than jesus. (In the music video, Davey is standing on a ledge over a crowd doing slightly hitlerish moves.) I'm not saying the Davey is a dictator-that's just the imagery that I think is used in the lyrics. Personally, I think that Davey's "dictatorship" represents the power he has with his band over the people who listen to his music. So, Davey is asking "Miss Murder", the angel of death, if the "going out with a big bang" thing would work for his band if it worked for that other guy. (Jesus, Hitler, whatever.) You can disagree-this is only my opinion. |

I agree with everyone that Rivers is cute in the muppet video, but I think Scott is hott! lol It's kinda like Rivers is the nerdy guy who falls in love with the hot girl, who rejects him. And I think the shelf thing meant that he hates to see the girl desperately looking for other guys, when he would gladly be with her. That's just my interpretation. |

The song isn't about spreading STDs...The name of the band is the HIVES, so they want to "spread the disease" of instantaneously loving the Hives the moment you hear them... And the whole "I can do whatever I want" theme is about (I think) how a lot of other bands dress and how they play, and that Howlin' Pelle and his gang don't have to follow suit with them. (That's why they wear the black and white suits.) |

| I think this song portrays a situation where a guy and a girl like each other, but neither of them will admit it. There's a lot of tension between them, so they're waiting for the other person to finally break the tension by "taking them out". That's why the guy in the lyrics is asking the girl to ask him out. (Kinda confusing, huh?) Plus, when Alex sings "broken, shattered I lie" and "i'm just a shot, then we can die" it means that he'll let the girl reject him so that everything can be over with. | |
