Finger Eleven – I'll Keep Your Memory Vague Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, it sounds more like he's singing to a departed friend/lover. He's letting them know he doesn't blame them for dying, and that even though it hurts to think about them, he still does so they live on in his heart.

i hope your heart wont have to hurt anymore
cause it's really not that sad
from here
because the moments i can feel you near
they keep you close to me my dear

That part especially sounds more like death than a breakup to me.

Correction:
Tell me, "Go in peace, appease me please"

This stay-leave mentality has me longing for clarity

Hot Hot Heat – Middle of Nowhere Lyrics 19 years ago
Hm, maybe it's just me, but I think the chorous is a bit spiteful. Like an ex who hurt him, and now she's being nice to him to ease her guilt, but he's telling her he sees through her act. She only did it so she could say she did.

They really have a theme of cutting through social bullshit in this album.

Hot Hot Heat – Pickin' It Up Lyrics 19 years ago
Maybe about parties? He thinks they're pointless, but he goes because it's better than nothing. He wishes he could just enjoy himself like everyone else (why do I have to be bored with being foolish and young?) but he thinks it's stupid.

Maybe his friends make fun of him for not getting trashed with the rest of them (I feel like I've let them down when I don't wanna trade my sunshine for a cloudy night). I think the chorous is about drugs. He almost does it just to fit in, but then decides he really doesn't want to, so he puts it back down.

Hot Hot Heat – Shame On You Lyrics 19 years ago
To me:

He met a girl while traveling, and fell in love with her (your spell cast on me in a motel), but didn’t realize it (turned my rain clouds into rainbows but I couldn’t even tell) and took her for granted/cheated on her (well I was playing show and tell I took your trust and set it free). Immediately afterwards, he realizes just how much she meant to him, and he can’t bring himself to accept the gravity of his errors. Hence the childlike metaphors, and trying to push the blame onto her (shame on you….how can you act surprised)

Running with scissors = having an affair, because it’s dangerous and he knows it’s wrong.

Show and tell = having sex. I don’t think I really need to explain that one.

It's not "too blue."

It's "to believe."

OK Go – Get Over It Lyrics 19 years ago
It's about how they had to get over the problems of recordning an album. From an interview with Damian:

"We had to do it in all little tiny pieces. We couldn't focus our attention on each little thing. And it just came out over-thought and overwrought and just kind of arty. It had all our ideas, but it didn't rock. So 'Get Over It' was written in response to that. I wanted something that would require a stadium to be played, and that wouldn't feel comfortable in indie-rock clubs. We were trying to do exactly what it said, f---ing get over it."

OK Go – Hello, My Treacherous Friends Lyrics 19 years ago
I like the idea that it's bashing music critics/record companies.

Spiders = songs. When they were first making their album, Capitol didn't want to put on C-C-C-Cinamon Lips. They were trying to "save" the record. But OK Go didn't need saving.

It's a lot more cryptic than their other songs, but that might have been so Capitol didn't realize what it was actually about.
