Bauhaus – Muscle In Plastic Lyrics 19 years ago
i think this song is a personal one to pete murphy, and is about him and the way he is seen in the public eye as well as how he envisions himself

Bauhaus – Party Of The First Part Lyrics 19 years ago
the vocals are lifted off an old cartoon about a mouse (not hundred percent sure though) who wants to be a star and meets the devil who promises to make this happen in return for her soul.

obviously they are comparing this to their own rise to fame

Bauhaus – Bela Lugosi's Dead Lyrics 19 years ago
hey chinup, can't fully agree with you about Daniel Ash being that good a guitarist, he run out of ideas after the first two albums if you ask me, as for Rowland S. Howard....now there was a talent!!

Bauhaus – Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
a shite cover version.

daniel ash was never that good on guitar, he even plays a simplified version of the song compared to mick ronson.

Bauhaus – Hollow Hills Lyrics 19 years ago
you'll find out that some of the lyrics in this song are lifted straight out of a book on faeries written in the 80's.

in response to LaDiablo's comment about the slowed down keyboard work, well there isn't any! Daniel Ash plays this on guitar using a drumstick much like a violin bow.

Radiohead – Creep Lyrics 19 years ago
i happen to know a few people who went to university in exeter with thom yorke, apparently this song is about a girl he was obsessed with there.

Bauhaus – Crowds Lyrics 19 years ago
i haven't heard this song in years. (about 20 years).

i always took it as being his distain for his post punk/gothic audience.

i first saw them in rock city nottingham in 1981 and he got covered in spit from the audience. i almost got hit by his mike stand which he was swinging at the audience. he selected one member of the audience who was spitting at him, made everyone standing around the guy move aside, then chucked the mic stand at this person either hurting him badly, or knocking him out. it was probably the most energetic gig i've ever been to in my life, and certainly had the most electricity i've ever experienced between audience and performers. shame they reformed. so much for being able to "walk away"
