| Carrie Underwood – Mama's Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
This is my favourite Carrie song. She's saying her mom taught her the facts of life and growing up, she was always the one there for her whenever she needed her mom. Her mom wants the very best for her daughter, and Carrie is saying she found exactly that; her future husband who takes care of her, and treats her, as the song says, like a real man should treat a woman and he will always be there for her. Just makes me smile everytime because it reminds me of my own guy. :) |

I LOVE this song. Carrie does it so incredibly well. It was written for the new Chronicles of Narnia: Dawn Treader movie. As Narnia is supposed to depict heaven, I think if you take it literally, this song is also talking about heaven (a world where you and I belong/where faith and love will keep us strong. However, as I am an Atheist, I like to think of it as everyone in this world has a specific place in the world and meaning. She's saying if you believe in yourself, anything is possible. We all go through tough times in our life where we start to question what's real or not, but you don't have to change who you are for anyone or anything to get what you want or dream of. Either way, it's a very inspiring song. |

| Taylor Swift – The Story of Us Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Putting aside who she wrote it for... If one were to listen to this song without knowing why it was written..the first thoughts that came to mind was that it's about a girl who's saying when her relationship with her boyfriend began, it was perfect, she wanted to be with him forever, etc. But lately they've had so many fights and misunderstandings, and now they're not talking to each other. She realizes it's only a matter of time before the relationship is over (and the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now..). She's saying how much it sucks (I'm scared to see the ending, why are we pretending, I've never heard silence quite this loud/And I'm dying to know is it killing you like it's killin' me?). She wants to fix the relationship (The battle's in your hands now, but I would lay my armor down if you say you'd rather love than fight), but realizes it's probably better that it ends. Just my thoughts. I love this song, one of my favourites from Speak Now. Very relatable. |

| Bittersweet. I think this song is about a past relationship and promises made, but never fulfilled. | |
| Ashley Parker Angel – So Alive Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song, very upbeat and good to listen to when you're in that type of situation, as you don't know what the future holds. | |
| Ashley Parker Angel – Shades of Blue Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Very deep and dark song. Inspirational too, as crazy as that sounds. It took me a few listens to realize this song was about teenage suicide. Ashley said that this song was written as a memory that stuck with him; a friend in high school who committed suicide, and shocked everyone. But it's hopeless no one noticed We're all just shades of you Very sad, but true. |

This song is a message to his 9 month old son, Lyric. It's about life in general. I love STYL, it's my favourite from his debut album. These questions and answers you'll never understand. I hold on but let go and give you room to breathe. Remember the best things, were never mine to keep. Very inspirational, as well as: Beat up, broken, back for more, I'll be dragging my own ass off the floor. I throw myself right in it What's the point if you don't live it? He has a very good point. Simply put, live life to its fullest. |

| Ashley Parker Angel – Along The Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I adore this song, it's my favourite (besides STYL) off of his debut album. I believe he said he wrote this song right after O-Town broke up and when he moved to L.A., and rightfully so, you can tell, especially: Letting go of everything Is the hardest part when you start along the way I think the song is just about finding yourself when the future is uncertain. |
