I think it's probably about a prostitute. Or at least someone who party's to hard and then sleeps around. "Saturday nights in neon lights Sunday in the cell Pills enough to make me feel ill Cash enough to make me well" The first line just is partying and then on Sunday you pay for what you did. Either in your guilt/shame or in a prostitute's case, get caught and go to jail. The next lines make me think that they have a drug problem and the only thing that is good is the cash. I'm not sure how the cash line would fit in if the song wasnt about a prostitute. So that makes me lean more to the prostitute thought, rather than just some partier. |

I think this song could be about anyone/thing, but I do agree that it has some strong references to death. Especially these two lines: I guess everything just circles around to where it was before so I hope I see you soon in some other form I've heard the expression, "Circling the drain," which refers to someone close to death or dying. Which kind of sounds like the first line. The next line, "so I hope I see you soon in some other form," definitely makes me think of the thought that after death, a human just turns back into dust or going to heaven as a spirit, whichever you believe in, really. |
