This song reminds me of when I used to take my dog Lacy running with me. She was part Blue Heeler, and her coat had the merle coloring...blue eyes too!
Has anyone else listened to the live version and had a hard time understanding the lyrics after the first chorus? It sounds like he says something about the future. Am I missing something here or are the lyrics above the studio version and LZ did something different live? I'm listening to 'How the West Was Won'. I'd appreciate any input...even "You're a 'tard, shut-up!' LOL! |

I love this song. The combination of the piano and bass is just incredible. Any body out there a big fan of Joe Cocker, and know what the hell this song is about? |

The only thing I hate about this song is that it ends. I'm usually not all about "catchy" songs. However, it's sexy, hard and has a pulse of it's own, despite how similar the riff may be to other songs. |

Have to put in a "woo-hoo" for the Vikings (despite that they were pluderers and stuff) but they are my ancestors. I'm 50/50 norwegian and Sweed. I'm 100% proud of it! Also, Plant was rather interested in mythology. A friend of mine who is a huge Tolkein fan insists this song is about the High Elvs crossing the sea of Ea. But that dosen't make sense to me because they would have been going toward the Eastren shore, not the West. Any one have some insight? |

Anyone ever think that this song isn't about a hooker, but about a promiscuious chick? Maybe, someone that the writer may have been attracted to, but didn't want to get messed up with. Someone that could have been more heartbreak and headache than much good. I get that LZ weren't choir boys or anything, But who who out there hasn't thought "maybe in another life...."? |

For the longest time I didn't have a radio or anything in my car, so on the way to work I listened to my walkman. The only tape I had anymore was an LZ tape. I listened to this song over and over. Morning after morning for almost 4 months I drummed to this song on my steering wheel. Let me tell you, it made the 20 miles to work seem a lot shorter! |

Just a little comment here, not much to do with the song at all. The Trial reminds me of my best friend when we were kids. She was always on trial by her parents. Ang was really a good kid. It's amazing she turned out normal at all with such emotionally bankrupt parents. |

Wow, this sure is different from his days in LZ. I really enjoy this song. Plant's voice has a velvety quality I've never noticed before. |

What about the other, maybe origional, Uneasy Rider song? It starts out "I was taking a trip out to LA, tooling along in my Chevolet. Tolking on a number and listening to the radio." I love that song and it's as un-PC as they come for back in the day when it was released. |
