| Sleater-Kinney – I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it encompasses what this particular record is all about--being really loud and forbidding and impenetrable like Thurston Moore while also being really melodic and lovable and inviting like Joey Ramone. That seems simplistic maybe but she wants it both ways, and Call the Doctor is good to such a degree that she gets it both ways. | |
| Pavement – Silence Kid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| there's definitely a masturbation reference at the end: "Chewin', screwin', my, self with my hand" | |
| Pavement – Transport Is Arranged Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Pavement – Range Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I've always liked the enjambment wit the line "And if my walkman fades I got absolutely no one no one but myself to blame." Because the kid in the song "out on his skateboard" is someone Malkmus remembers being at one point, and this kid's only real friend is music, and he has low self esteem and blames himself a lot. Or something. |

| Pavement – Loretta's Scars Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's actually just about how painful it might be to screw a girl with piercings ("How can I, how can I how can I, make my body shed around your metal scars?") | |
