I think thats one of the best GGD songs. Sometimes the song makes me very sad because it reminds me of the "relationship" I and my "crush" have. We are very similar and at the same time we seem the most different characters that could be found. He is the first guy I could spend endless ours with just talkin. One day we were at a point where we became kinda close, too close. The thing was that there was no sex, not even kissing but from one second to another we both realized that we had deeper feelings for each other than friendship. Since then (it was about a year ago) we didn't speak a single word to each other althouth we see each other everyday at school. "A thousand words but none were spoken Guess there's nothin' left to say" That's what it seems now. I know we're kinda childish but we were both hurt to much to trust a person that much to start a relationship. We'll see how it ends. nevertheless, I LOVE THIS SONG ABOVE ALL (maybe less than my friend :-) |

I can't truly say what the son is about i just love it. I love the atmosphere. It's kind of gloomy and full of mystery. In some parts Alison Goldfrapp sings and then begins to whisper which even puts more mystery to it. If I had to imagine a story to this song I'd say that it's about a woman who is with a guy and he's cheatin on her. And he tells her all the lies about where he spent the previous night and whom with and doesn't even guess that she might already know that he's a lyer. She's a bit shoked because he doesn't feel guilty or something. However, they stay together because she is still attracted to him. When he's away she cries but can't let him go. I know that my fantasy is playin trcks on me ;) |

| This song is one of my favorites. You just can listen to it over and over again and you never get bored. I think the song is about a failed relationship and now he is tryin to convince her to take him back and to make a new start. I don't now whether the girl gives him a second chance but I actually would if somebody sang this song to me. I also like the video pretty much, sometimes even more than the song. 80s rock!!! | |

I can't believe I'm the 1st one to comment on this beautiful song. To me it's just such a wonderful love song. It's pretty short but the progress which the woman goes thru is still pretty much visible. In the beginning she refers to herself as a fool because she is apparently not the only woman the man she has a crush on treats as a lover. However, she realizes that it's impossible for her to escape the man's "charming claws" and so she kind of on her knees in front of this gigolo guy begging him to take her back. She knows that she is dependent (or maybe even addicted to) on the man. Maybe she is sexually depending on him. The song might sound sad to an emancipated woman who would never like to say that she is so addicted to a guy but i think the song can also be appllied to a man loving a girl. I think there#s even a version of this son sung by Frank Sinatra. |
