Sometimes videos give insight, sometimes they don't. I think it's best to interpret songs based on the lyrics and perhaps explanations given in interviews by the artist, but videos really should have nothing to do with it.
I think the part where he says "I mean, technically our marriage is saved" is sarcasm. How on earth does knowing about infidelity through a means other than direct honesty from the bride save anything? It doesn't. Definitely sarcasm. |

I also have never heard the last line of this version. But I really thoroughly love this song. I love that The Promise Ring is almost sloppy sounding sometimes. It's not a poor quality recording or performance, it's just slightly more real than most canned studio recordings. I like that they sound like real people with real feelings. And I like that this song is written in a "stream of consciousness" sort of style. |

Did anyone else notice "standed"? I'm not an English major, but that strikes me as gramatically off-putting.
Anyway, I love BK, and I love this song. |

In response to myself, while I stand by my interpretation, I do believe this song has some of the greatest lines in lyrical history. Also, it's just one of my favorites in general. |

I really feel like this song isn't about anything, except maybe a bad trip? Actually, sounds a lot like a trip to me. You might feel the need to tell me I'm wrong, I strongly encourage this. |
