A really kick ass vocal effect.
As for the meaning it seems to be some sort of omen or revelation. Really weird lyrics. The lyrics remind me of In Flames that they both are very close to poetry. |

Why did that album ever have to exist? After it was released I realize Mustaine doesn't need Metallica, Metallica needs Mustaine. I really lost a lot of respect for Metallica after St. Anger and Lars Ulrich's greed. Watch Some kind of Monster and you will see that Dave was the scapegoat for all the band members problems. They all had drug and alcohol problems, yet Mustaine was the only one blamed. I am not being biased I am just saying the truth. Though I still love Metallica from the 80s they just suck ass now. Megadeth is consistently awesome .

This has to be the top 5 maiden songs along with sign on the cross, Phantom, Rime, and Powerslave. As for the instrumental, it's only rivaled by Powerslave. Words cannot describe the beauty of this song. It brings you into a desert. This is the most underrated song by Maiden so far. This song is a reminder of how awesome Maiden is. I read somewhere that the instrumental was borrowed from a song from a band called Beckett. I don't know but either way I know this song is better.
As for the meaning, I think it's more than just about a mysterious nomad. Well maybe not because the lyrics are pretty simple but Steve Harris is my god and a genious and the best songwriter out there! |

Shadows Fall truely has one of the greatest drummers ever, and this song proves it. This has to be on my top 10 song of all time. Anyways, I think it's about being brainwashed and lied to. You are being force fed bullshit you don't know what to believe in anymore, you don't what is the truth, or who is telling the truth. You then spread the lies onto others hence the "I warp reality" verse. |

This song is about commitment into a relationship. The vocalist always used to back out of his relationships because he was afraid to commit, so he would move onto another girl and back down. Hence the verse "the cycle soon begins again" |
