For me, this song is about a pure platonic love (L'amour que nous ne ferons jamais ensemble). A very deep love, but nothing sexually. Rather something innocent. Something childish. Something beautiful, true and platonic. |

(I tried to make the lyrics as understandable as possible...) Look at me I am the most beautiful of the neighboorhood I'm the loved one The ones that see me feel overwhelmed a little bit charmed And when I arrive The women look mad at me I don't care, I am the most beautiful of the neighbourhood. Is it my face? Is it my fine, smooth skin? My smooth way? Is it my allure? Is it the Anglo-saxian grace of my body? Is it my smile? Or the sophisticated elegance of my cashmires Whatever it may be, I'm the most beautiful of the neighboorhoud But take notice of my beauty My exquise cuteness I am the king of the desired And I'm the unundressable Look at me Look at me, from head to toe you won't find two like me I am the favorite The beautiful friend of all this ladies and their husbands look at me Look at me I am the most beautiful of this neighbourhood I am the prefered one My wonderful victims want to touch my laces It corrupts them The good mens, they definately want to undress me it sures them But take a look at my beauty My exquis cuteness I am the kind of the desired and i'm the unundressable Look at me Look at me, from head to toe You won't find another like me I am the wanted The little darling of all these ladies and their husbands, too |

This song is a metaphor for fading memories. The person thinks about his former love, and how the memories fade away. This is the image of the woman drowning in the river; the woman stands for the memories, the river for the time that separates them, and drives them apart. She drowns in the time that has passed, until finally everything faded away |

| whats it with the broken glass sounds in the song, and the pieces o fbroken glass in the clip? What do they mean with that? do they mean she hits him with glass, or that he starts freaking when he finds out his wife is testing him? Can ANYONE explain this to me, its breaking my head for over three days now... *sigh* | |

I think its about a person who tries to do good things, who wants the best for all, but everything this person tries ends up in tears, wich makes them feel they cant do anything at all. "Hello, I'm good for nothing..." It reminds me of that sort of things... |

| Kate Bush – Running Up That Hill Lyrics | 18 years ago |

For me its about a relationship, with very much difficulties, and very heavy weight to bear. She suffers and suffers, wich tears her partner "asunder", but she denies it (it doesnt hurt me...) She denies it so much just to reassure herself she is'nt suffering, but she is. "You dont want to hurt me". She is losing strenth, the weight is getting way to heavy to bear, it makes her hate him sometimes, and she begs him to reassure her everything is fine (Tell me we both don't matter, dont we?) She needs to hear him saying everything is going to be allright, just to regain strenth, to be running up that hill, to run against all the difficulties, to bear it. 'With no problems" Just my idea... ^^ |

For me its about this older man, who gets touched by the sight of a younger girl. She's not a child anymore, yet she aint a woman. Lets say she's about 16-17. He really adores her, wants to love her. He would never do her harm. But his feelings are "wrong", and to realise he can never really love her, just hurts, cuts trough him like a dull knive does. He cant sleep at night, because of desire and nightmares (what if the world would find out?) And so he just watches her, suffering all alone. He never loved someone so bad, so completely, and she's the only "cure", but also the disease. The forbidden fruit. It just makes me cry to hear it, every time. And now, I just read the lyrics even more... |

| Neil Diamond – Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon Lyrics | 19 years ago |

It remembers me of the first time I went to bed with my boyfriend. I knew this song since my childhood, my mother used to play it, she had a cassette with music on it... Later I saw it in Pulp Fiction (wich I must agree is great... That scene... how she moves... great) I was on msn messenger, the evening before I would spend the day with my bf. I was listening to this song, uncontious about the importance of tomorrow... He saw what I was listening, he told me later. It made him feel insecure. I spend my day with him... It was beautiful... Really, it was perfect... Later that evening he sent me an email, with title "Girl, you'll be a woman soon", with all the sweetest things in it... He's just great... To bad we're breaking up tomorrow... But I cant stop listening this song, since it refers to the most special day I ever had. And I still love him... |

This is a little translation, of the first line, its all allmost the same. Its not so well done (neither English or French are my mainlanguages, but I just wanted to show what's it about since most of the people dont understand french) I came to tell you that Im going And your tears wont change anything As said by Verlaine "Au vent mauvais" I came to tell you that Im going You think about the old times and you cry you suffer, you regret that the time has come to say goodbye, forever I regret I came to tell you I'm going Yes, I loved you, yes, but .... |

Its the song that reminds me of my first boyfriend. We have been close to breaking up, many times. The first time we were together he told about this song, I went downloading it. Later when he almost broke up I listened to this song +-55 times, on one night. I always listened to it when he was about to leave me. This song is about someone who'se mind is already made up, and he really is going to leave his partner. Its based on a poem by Paul Verlaine, Chanson d'automne. Ill post a translation f this song later. |
