| minderella, people like you make me so, so happy to be alive. thank you. | |

i don't know what happened with Elisa, but from a superficial look, gabe's saying, "fuck you, i don't care what you say about me and us and what we do. we're just here to entertain." and that's good enough for me. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Zero-Sum Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| to me, this song sounds like a father talking to his daughter in Year Zero. he could be dying, or going far away, or just telling her this before she falls asleep. but to me, this sounds like someone reassuring someone they love. | |
| Ludacris – Runaway Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| as someone who usually despises commercial rap music, i think this song is great. Luda did something amazing in bringing all this to our attention. | |
| I Am Ghost – The Most Beautiful Nightmare: Part Two Lyrics | 19 years ago |

this song would be one of the best ever written if it wasn't for the "heads rolling" part that they added in to feel more hardcore. i love IAG, don't get me wrong, but they didn't need that. "Would you carry on the same Would you know that I'm okay?" this part gives me the chills. |

| Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #2 (Laika) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

what confuses me is the point of view. first, it's like a story told by a younger sibling, probably to an even younger sibling who didn't understand what had gone on. then in the chorus, they're talking directly to alex. in the next verse, you can see that Alex is still there, and they're GOING to make him do something. the last verse is the only verse besides the chorus that talks to Alex. (the 'come on alex, you can do it! part sounds to me like a little boy cheering for the hero of a fairy tale that he's being told.) so you know, for the whole duration of the song, Alex is still at home. the first verse is the only one that takes place in the past. |

| Dangerous Muse – The Rejection Lyrics | 19 years ago |

first comment for one of my favorite songs. i think it's about a relationship where one loves the other more than the other loves the one. or it could be about a homosexual in a heterosexual relationship. i'm not sure, it's a little vague. it's a great song, nonetheless. very smart. i hate dance music but i'm totally addicted to dangerous muse. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Every Day Is Exactly the Same Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
even if it IS about rehab, it reminds me of 1984. "I believe I can see the future Cause I repeat the same routine I think I used to have a purpose Then again, that might have been a dream" Winston, the main character, found his life monotonous and routine. he did the same thing every day. "I think I used to have a voice And now I never make a sound I just do what I've been told I really don't want them to come around, oh no" he couldn't speak up against The Party or they'd find him and kill him. he was afraid of them. "Every day is exactly the same Every day is exactly the same There is no love here, and there is no pain Every day is exactly the same" people weren't directly hurt by the party if they followed the rules, but they weren't cared for, either. "I can feel their eyes are watching In case I lose myself again Sometimes I think I'm happy here Sometimes, yeah, I still pretend" the telescreens mounted on the walls, and BIG BROTHER were always watching. if you gave any sign of nervousness, you'd be vaporized. he also didn't know how he felt about the party towards the middle of the book. "I can't remember how this got started Oh, but I can tell you exactly how it will end" Winston tried to remember when the party took over, and was trying to figure it out. he knew what would happen to the world. "I'm writing on a little piece of paper I'm hoping someday you will find Well, I'll hide it behind something They won't look behind" Winston kept an illegal diary just in case someone would find it in the future. "I am still inside here A little bit comes bleeding through I wish this could have any other way Oh, but I just don't know, I don't know what else I can do" he feels powerless against the party. but that's just my theory. |

you can also look at it from another perspective. like a girl likes a guy who's already engaged, so the girl who likes him kills his fiancee so she could be with him. "I never thought it'd be this way, just me and you here alone." and she says that she'd do anything for him. "And if you stay, all I'm asking for is/ A thousand bodies piled up/I never thought would be enough/ To show you just what I've been thinking." so it can be pretty much the same story from the side of someone watching the marriage. |

| Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Maps Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i have another 'gay' theory. two men, possibly college roommates or something, live together when one tells the other that he's gay. so guy 1, who's straight says: "pack up, i'm straight." guy 2: "i'm not" he's basically kicking him out, and guy 2 is telling him that he loves him. he's telling him that "my kind's your kind," and that they're not so different. |
