This song combined with the "sweet thing"s brings back some dim memory (from high school english class) of an old hooker in 1984- pardon me if i'm making this up. She was wrinkled and disgusting and basically had to stay in the dark; like the embodiment of hopelessness. But hope is dismissed (by the prostitute?) as "a cheap thing". Then again prostitution and hope always seem opposed in my mind. |

i'm a big fan of the funky rhcp songs but when i downloaded this i was in the mood for normal led zeppelin stuff, so this song really surprised me! its weird finding a song that connects two really different styles i like... but i think its just led zep trying out a sound, like the reggae-ish song on the cd |

jig2, i was just listening to this cd in the car and not looking at the track numbers or knowing which song was which, but at some point i thought the same thing- it DEFINITELY reminds me of one hot minute. ill try to find the specific song i was listening to, but i bet ill think that about a lot of others now that its on my mind.
AND, please call it "white-boy rap", since its not in the dictionary so it can be whatever you want except its distinguished from rap. the shit eminem makes. |
