I guess there are three possibilities: 1.) the tattoo 2.) the tattoo as a symbol for a rape 3.) the tattoo as a symbol for first sex Since the girl wanted to have the tattoo, I think that 3.) is the most likely. Maybe she wanted to make experiences/feel love, no matter "what it costs" - but this first experience marks her for the rest of her life and hurts her deep. (that's why she appears so lonely at the end) I like this song, it's very athmospheric and impressive. |

I think that it's almost impossible to translate a Rammstein-song - there are far too many German wordplays ;) This line: >My skin belongs to men I always understand: "Meine Haut gehört dem Herrn" instead of >Meine Haut gehört den Herren (which is the plural of "Herren" and which was translated here) This might be another wordplay - "Herr" in its singular form can mean "god" in German, too. Just as a hint ;) |

As for this problem: >Doch friert mein Herz an manchen Tagen >Kalte Zungen die da schlagen As stalin (what a nick! °_°) said, this might be about the gay communities. The second line could be about kisses, not about words, meaning that there is no love in those kisses and that they are "cold". In the video, you see mainly bodies, but almost no faces. When they show a face, it's just filled with desire, but not 'clear' to see. So I guess this song is pro-homosexual (of course, it's referring to different problems of gay's lifes), but also criticizing the homosexual community and their impression of love. |
