Anybody heard the Billy Bragg version? I'm not as big on the Smiths as I was a while back (Rubber Ring??) but lyrically, it's genius. Every song has a line you can take away and call your own. |

The little thing who does my laundry
Speaks no English
If you saw her
You'd say "Isn't she lovely"
....... great simple lines........... |

I think it's about a guy out fishing (wave your wand/make me dance flip flop) and sea life saying to man 'you think you have progressed / evolved (It isn't so great / since you learned karate chop), but we have freedom. The seas are bigger and better than land': I'm Thalassocracy (ruler of the waves) / You're just Romanov (ruler of vast land) - see also lyris for The Swimmer. ...... Most of Frank's lyrics are amazing. He can write about almost anything and get you interested. Genius |

I think this is related to Thallasocracy. A guy is swimming into the past to be what he once was cos he wants to detach himself from this world and return to the sea: pelagic = oceans, choragic = leader |
