| Led Zeppelin – Ten Years Gone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song; and I agree benulitron, I was about to say the same thing to that post. =D Anyways, what does this song mean to *me*? Well, when I listened to it first, I couldn't help but feel captivated with the soothing intro, (the same way TRS did to me) and as I listened to the song more, I found myself just thinking of what happened in the past. And when I looked it up, it *is* about the past, or at least it had that nostalgia element in it. So, for me, this song just brings out the fondest memories I've held close in my mind and to my heart. Heck, that's cheesy. Okay, revert to normal now. Zeppelin rocks! xDD This is my second favorite Zeptune, closely after The Rain Song. =D |

| Plain White T's – Hey There Delilah Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song is about a guy showing the world his love for his tad much younger girl and how much the distance would never mean anything to him and his girl, Delilah. Such a lovely song. |
| Led Zeppelin – In My Time of Dying Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the last bit where Jimmy Page did this little diddy that reminded me of Spongebob Squarepants. | |
| Stacie Orrico – (There's Gotta Be) More To Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Anybody could make their own interpretations of the song, it's their own opinion. So don't say it's *just* all about God, because for some others it could be about something else too! Anyways, I think this song is about wanting something more. Maybe perhaps she was bored with everyday life; it has gotten so routinely that she feels like she's a robot. That's my take on it. |
| Avril Lavigne – Girlfriend Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I really do feel like this is just a joke, a parody. Because it's all crap! crap! crap! It's even richer coming from HER! The one who "opposes" the pop blah blah. Oh well.. it's about time anyway. |
| Avril Lavigne – Keep Holding On Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't like Avril nowadays.. but I liked this song because it hit home with what I'm feeling right now. [Sort of like what today's music do right?] And underagedthinking, I agree. It could've been MUCH MUCH MORE better. And you should know about 12 year old thinking... your name says it all. LOL! Anyways, the meaning is pretty laid out there. If you don't get it. You don't get it. |
| Queensrÿche – Silent Lucidity Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song means of being able to control your dreams. I had done that maybe once or twice, but I'm just nothing to it, really. Anyways, is anybody else reminded of Pink Floyd when they first heard this? I was. x_x Brilliant song by the way. Really helps me through the day listening to it. |
| Jack's Mannequin – Miss Delaney Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Awesome song. [I'm beginning to love this guy from both SoCo and Jack's Mannequin. He's really good. And to think he just survived something horrible *ahem* anyways...] This song seems to me, is about a guy (preferrably Miss Delaney's boy friend) who is madly in love with Miss Delaney; however something seemed to have happened to Miss Delaney that she's shutting him out of her life. "He isn't up in heaven, so why treat him like he's dead?" It could also be that Ms. Delaney is treating this guy harshly, or without even thinking of his reactions before she does things to him. Thus "why treat him like he's dead?" The golden verse I liked in this song is... ~Finally I'm letting go of all my downer thoughts In no time there'll be one less sad robot Looking for a chance to be something more than just metal Now I'm going part time with a film projectionist And she's the vinyl queen from the surfer dream She likes the Beach Boys more than radio metal And she's so good, but she's no good for me ~ Sounds like Miss Delaney's an awesome person! ^_^ -thumbs up!- |

| Led Zeppelin – Fool in the Rain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love Zeppelin. I love love love loooovvveee Zeppelin. I thought that by hearing Kashmir and Friends; I have already seen how much they could stretch the boundaries in rock music. But god, when I came to listen to ITTOD... Song like this one and All My Love and various others... they just seem to amaze me. And this is my favorite song! Next to The Rain Song anyway. Haha. This is all too great of a music to be forgotten in the proceeding years. What I love about this song is that it's really sing-able. Not like the other Zep tunes where you have to get the "Robert Plant" voice just to sing it (if you want to at least get it right) so yeah. |
| McFly – Don't Stop Me Now (Queen cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Yep. Queen did it better. | |
| Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 19 years ago |
(( Forgive the fool who double posts. =D )) "i just saw the video for it, and holy SHIT did Patrick get fat." Lol! I just saw it a few days ago. Me and a friend of mine (an artist and a FOB fanatic; I'm not much of a FOB fan these days) think it's awesome of them to just poke fun of their own decisions, and not deny them. And yes, Patrick got fat! But he's still as adorable as ever! ~^_^~ Lol, me and my friend laughed at the 2003 scene bit. Thinking that if it *was* 2003... Patrick should've been relatively skinnier than he is now! Haha! |
| Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Did FOB say they're trying something new? If so, I didn't know. (-gasp- bad scene kid. bad! phfft..!) Anyways, this song contained different elements that I've heard of, comming from FOB yet. (And as much as I like to bash FOB nowadays [along with the other bands that came along in this era], I at least *try* to listen to them before I go on to a rant on how sucky they are. Perhaps even make reasonable judgements.) So far for the song's meaning. I'm not really sure. As I know that Pete just writes the words and have the Stump do the rhythm and all that jazz; so I'm thinking it may just be a couple of verses thrown together with a beat that's catchy. |
| Led Zeppelin – All My Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I just read that the band drifted apart when recording ITTOD; Bonham and Page hanging out while Plant and Jones are in the studio. I don't know why, but that fact makes me cry. (Or at least, it got my eyes swelling with tears.) | |
| Led Zeppelin – Since I've Been Loving You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Sensual, and just wonderful. You can't really call yourself a real music lover if you don't take a listen to this song and get somewhat attached to it. It's just really... sexual, I guess. (And I'm not complaining about that.) The song also has a very beautiful yet direct song meaning (lyrics). |
| Something Corporate – Wait Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Okay, maybe I'm just a priss when it comes to spelling, but isn't 'cynergy' supposed to be SYNERGY with an S? I love this song. Something Corporate is a band that I've been listening to... well, ever since I learned about the good music. And out of all the stuff that I've been listening back then, to compare to the things that I listen to now. SoCo's songs are always the ones that stick with me. I'm not sure what this song means though. They say it's something relative to dying and has suicidal connotations. But I don't really see it. I think that it's all just... the need to not feel left out. |
| Led Zeppelin – Tangerine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| AND Tangerine is also a fruit! ^-^ | |
| Augustana – Boston Lyrics | 19 years ago |
You may have already gotten sick of hearing this, but "Boston" is one of the most beautiful yet simplest song I've ever heard spewing out of this era. I have turned over into a hard/classic rocker these days. Mainly because... well, c'mon! The 50's, 60's and up to the mid-70's were and are still the greatest era for music! And even though I have turned my back into searching and looking out for any band that may change the corporate music industry existing these days (it's all about money money money, where's the passion?) this song... always gets to me and touch my heart. It taps into an emotion to many of us. And if you're not in the least bit touched by this song.. then you're a dumbass. This song, what does is means to me. Well, forgive my babblings up there, but this is what the song means to me... It means getting either sick and lost about one thing. There are times when you're so fed up and caught up in things, all you want to do is basically get out of this sticky situation. Thus, there enters "boston". Boston represents that place where we all wanted to be, our refugee. Though the song lyrics are as simple as hell. I found the piano work and melody of this amazing. Just perfect for the mood. I'm actually looking for the radio edit (the version on the video)... |
| Led Zeppelin – Tangerine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| BTW;; "Tangerine" refers to a person - I'm most definitely am sure. There are a few out there that refers to their desired ones as 'tangerine' so... | |
| Led Zeppelin – Tangerine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is beautiful, I've first heard it at the end of Almost Famous so whenever I listen to it, I caught myself thinking... this song is fitting if you were to be reminiscing about the good times and moments you've had in one particular era or with people in your life. My take on it however is that, this song is dedicated to those people they have met all along the way - either pre-Led Zep or in the middle of Led Zep. There's one specific quote that Robert Plant (FYI;; it's PAGE not PAIGE! C'mon, that is just annoying!) saying that it's the first song that the band ever sang together. It's also written by Jimmy Page about his then-girlfriend Jackie DeShannon (he was with her back in the Yardbirds days) the tune was actually from a Yardbird record entitled 'Knowing That I'm Losing You' - I'm pretty sure it's in a different lyric but the tune is there and recognizable. So you can't really say he 'borrowed' it... BTW;; the count-in was done by Jimmy Page also. |
| Led Zeppelin – Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
What does this song mean to me? Well, since it's the question; it's my favorite song right now just because I could relate to it so well. I'm leaving at April 7 next year and probably never going back here [where I'm at right now.] like the song says, when the SUMMER rolls in. I guess, that's when I'm leaving. I don't want to leave though. But as for general meaning, it's laid out there. You'd be blind not to see it. [or deaf?] |
| Led Zeppelin – Friends Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Whoah, that's a very amusing story RayMan & Andy.. I couldjust picture it. As for the eastern influences, I couldn't see nor hear em on this song. Maybe it's just me or it's just subtle. I have yet to hear the No Quarter: UnLedded version. |
| 3 Doors Down – Be Like That Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think everybody could relate to this song. Basically, IMO it's about wanting something else, something great. You know that feeling that you want to be someone or have something so bad that it hurts.. I guess that's it. |
| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Not overrated [it's good, brilliant] just.. overplayed. Synonymous with Led Zeppelin, as Bohemian Rhapsody is with Queen and I Don't Get No Satisfaction is with the Rolling Stone.. I guess. The meaning I could care for it less, whether it be satanic or not. I live for the music man. It's awesome, espescially TSTRS version of it.. the solo's incredible. I'm quite proud to nail the intro! ^_^ |
| Led Zeppelin – Hots on for Nowhere Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I went on wikipedia and they said it's about Plant's frustrations with Page and Grant, somebody clear this up for me. | |
| Led Zeppelin – Nobody's Fault but Mine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think every band [and by every, I do mean every, not just in one genre] is influenced by another. Led Zeppelin was no exception. I have to agree with Mandolinloser's comment: "Led Zeppelin was more influential through their music, not their lyrics." It probably matters to some of you whether "stealing" from other materials is relevant or not, but the fact is.. whether they had "stolen" it, it seems like they made it their own. Plus, it has a very addictive riff. Don't know about the Whipping thing though, but I think this song is about taking things into your own hands and be responsible for it. My meaning seemed to be one of the most obvious one of them all, but still, it's my take on it. Oh, and BTW;; Ray, nice description of Presence! It cracked me up, I'm checking out that album of Led Zep btw. |
| The Veronicas – 4ever Lyrics | 19 years ago |
BTW;; I also listen to Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple and those acts, so don't go telling me that I'm a pop tart afficionado. x_x; I'm just one of the guilty as charged addicted to this song. |
| The Veronicas – 4ever Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Sunshine_arakhan, you rock man. Hehe, now really it's one of the songs that is catchy and meaningless. There are tons of songs [nowadays] that are like that! But if you compare this to other pop tarts that are comming out these days, this song would be one of the most catchiest and IMO, one of the songs [comming out of the pop tart section] that I would listen to in repeat and so on. Not every song has to have a deep meaning, it could just be.. like.. BLAH! |
| Cat Stevens – The Wind Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Heh. Whatever you say man. But to me, Cat Stevens is a musician and because of that I'll only judge him as a musician. And f*ck, I just love this song. |
| Lenny Kravitz – Are You Gonna Go My Way? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Is this the one that John Paul Jones from Led Zep performed on? | |
| SR-71 – 1985 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| LMAO! ^^ | |
| Led Zeppelin – Out on the Tiles Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| [heyjude55] uhh... wasn't that opening riff from Bring it On Home? | |
| Led Zeppelin – Ramble On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love the bass line. Anyways, it's a song about being persistent to find that fair maiden or something you really yearn for. I don't know much about LOTR; so this is my take on it. |
| Led Zeppelin – Bring It on Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love the guitar riff after the harmonica is done. Some people say that Stairway to Heaven is best guitar solo ever.. but for me, the guitar in this song totally blew my mind! | |
| Led Zeppelin – Heartbreaker Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| in response to gimpy's comment;; I think it would be totally non-Led Zep if they don't experiment with other areas like they did with Kashmir's mystique and all. | |
| KT Tunstall – Black Horse and the Cherry Tree Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Lol! It's maybe just my addiction to Led Zep; but I could practically sing this with 'Black Dog' as the lyrics! Nyahahaha... it's even in the 2/4 beat. Hihi.. -^_^- |
| Elton John – Tiny Dancer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Everytime I hear this song; I would be in the mood to sing-along to it [blame Almost Famous.. that was a golden moment] and then images of a petite young girl just freely dancing around just came in my mind... really. Obviously a wonderful song. I think it refers to carefree loving devoted women.. groupies, roadies, whatnot. |
| Led Zeppelin – Bron-Y-Aur Stomp Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| surfer;; it's the place where they wrote this song. I think, or something of that context. | |
| Led Zeppelin – Bron-Yr-Aur Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Doesn't need lyrics. The guitars just have this... way that's like singing out to you. One ability that I admire that Page brings in this song is the ability to make guitars sing; or maybe that's just me but this is fucking beautiful. Again, does not need words. |
| Led Zeppelin – Over the Hills and Far Away Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Heh; the posts in this song are interesting. Esp. with the heated debacle and the "PAIGE" stuff. (the latter was seriously hilarious! hahaha! For God's sakes, it's PAGE! LMAO!) It maybe given before; or maybe it's just me but I think this song is written about being on the road and missing their wives back home. Somehow reassuring them about their love for them. ...but maybe it's just really me. x_x; And you're right.. Jonesy is the most underrated talented musician of all time! "Just because you're the bass player doesn't mean you don't have presence" - Page. Heh; that one with that example of "the light hurts my eyes".. that was hilarious. But then Plant said that there are some words to songs that you shouldn't delve so much into; maybe this is just one of them. |
| Led Zeppelin – The Rain Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love it; really. It's the song that I play on my iPod whenever I go to sleep at night, it's the song that keeps playing in my head when I'm at school and supposed to be concentrating on whatever the teacher was saying. [I actually doodled on my notes 'the Rain Song' when I got lazy to copy any of the lectures.. I'm obsessed] You're right groupie, this is just waaaay too--it's beyond words--beyond proper description to describe the beauty and the flow of this song. It's just too... wonderful. I would love to play it in guitar; but I can't tune my guitar. it's just in standard tuning; and I'm afraif I might break a string if I do play around with it [..again] but I could imagine how it would be like to play it... must've been relaxing [lol! sorry couldn't find any proper words for the moment] In conclusion;; I believe that this song means [obviously] that he's got a lover and all those people said in the first page =D BTW;; Jesus is not God.. he's a prophet. x_x; right? |
| The Dresden Dolls – Coin-Operated Boy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
uhh... I have held a few ideas that this boy isn't really plastic and elastic. Err, figuratively speaking. Maybe he's just her boytoy that's plastic with everyone else--fake with everyone else; but is real becuase he's a love sick puppy after her. And plastic, because.. uhh.. he's versatile? x_x; Uhh, that's my two cents. But good catchy song @_@; |
| Led Zeppelin – Trampled Under Foot Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Dude, that riff from Franz Ferdinand's song isn't entirely different. There were similarities, you can't deny that. | |
| Led Zeppelin – Communication Breakdown Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| .... lol! Nice one Robbie! Such a comedian... anyways, ripped lyrics or not. What makes Led Zep's earlier songs great are because of the way the band plays it. Not that Robert didn't do anything at all... err, provide vocals. But yeah, the basic message is: Jimmy Page as a guitarist, Jones as an arranger and Bonzo as a drummer and Plant's sexual filled energy voice makes their early songs good if not, some of them great. | |
| Led Zeppelin – That's the Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love the song, so far I'm really amazed and addicted and truly loving Led Zeppelin's materials by every song that I hear by them. They could either do the hard rock n roll types and do those mellow acoustic ones that could just really touch your heart. Useless to say, I fell inlove with this one. It's very philosophical and... deep. [for lack of proper adjectives] Correct me if I'm wrong, but it does seem like it's a cynical song--or maybe that's just me. Gives off that "don't waste today, for tomorrow may never come" attitude though. Conclusion;; awesome song. |
| Filter – Take A Picture Lyrics | 19 years ago |
LMAO! Sorry, i think this song is comming from a child's point of view. The child was an offspring of a holy being [err.. let's just say eitehr a nun or priest or etc.] and a normal/holy person. Although, I may just be going pretty literal about this. But that's my take on it. Awesome song by the way. |
| Foo Fighters – Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
by the way, is it just me or has he really sang the first few notes and nailed it as if it was really a guitar playing? err, something of that context x_x; |
| Foo Fighters – Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
OMG! I love this!!! So hilarious! I'm a Led Zep fan, I don't think it's really disrespecting. [Disrespecting would be the use of a good song in a commercial.. then, it only made commercials more fun then x_X;] Plus, omg, i want to watch the video of this. It would be good to see if he was singing the guitar solo and was doing air guitar! hahaha! love that "The tune will come to you at last!" emphasis! lol! Maybe the words will come to him at last? lmao! |
| Silverchair – Without You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I've only heard of this song, the only Silverchair song that I've heard. I have yet to hear the others but I love this song's lyrics. The writer must be really talented. Can anybody really assure that all of their songs can't be a let down of their lyrical impressions on me? | |
| Billy Talent – Red Flag Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well, basically for me it all just means to get up from your lazy ass and go do something because if it weren't us then who'se going to make this world a better place. Or something of that context. I do agree, it does sound anarchy-istic. But then, basically it's a really good motivational song. |
| Aerosmith – I Don't Want To Miss A Thing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Lol.. turjake, I know the point of the song. I'm just not one to really take it so seriously. |
