Sneaker Pimps – Destroying Angel Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, that was a misfire. Accidental double-post, and the corrected lyrics placed where they belong -- in a report.

The song strikes me as one about abuse, although that meaning is a hell of a lot less clear with this portrayal of the song in text. Speaking as someone who has -been- in a nightmarish abusive situation... a lot of this works for it. The false-messiah imagery, ("The hands you stabbed together 'cos you prayed 'You'd wait forever'...", "Like the stones beneath the water that you walked on, to be taller...") the idea of being branded as an object ("And the words beneath my skin! The ink that YOU put in!"), and with luck, the eventual freedom, and the spiral of pain it brings. ("Destroying all the things you left around/'cos I'm earthbound, coming down...")
Drug imagery is only there if you're actively looking for it.

For one, a lot of the words are wrong, with sentences left incomplete. Corrected lyrics:

Hinder – Lips of an Angel Lyrics 19 years ago
Crap, I hit "add" slightly too soon... Something else I wanted to explain...

"And I never wanna say goodbye,
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
with the lips of an angel."

... I know for a fact that hearing the words "I love you" from the woman I love is the most divine sound in the world. Nothing can ever compare to it. Every word that comes from her mouth could just as well be coming from an angel. See what I'm getting at? Additionally... "I don't want to hang up with you, but I know talking to you will cause problems in my relationship, because of the aforementioned divinity I associate with you." Ta-da!

Or it could be innuendo, but hey. D: And now, I'm done.

... I see a lot of people here saying the word "cheating"... having been in this situation before, it isn't quite that clean-cut. While it's a simple song, to an almost absurd degree... apparently, people don't understand it too clearly. D:

Let's dissect a little bit.

"Honey, why are you calling me so late?
It’s kinda hard to talk right now
Honey, why are you crying, is everything okay?
I gotta whisper cause I can’t be too loud"

... the girl he's "cheating" with has called him out of nowhere. In tears. As illustrated by the chorus, he obviously has lingering feelings about her, despite his relationship status, but the circumstances of this call aren't some form of arrangement of a liason, so far. As a matter of fact...

"It’s funny that you’re calling me tonight...
And yes I’ve dreamt of you too.
And does he know you’re talking to me?
Will it start a fight?
No, I don’t think she has a clue..."

... "and yes, I've dreamt of you, too." Do I see a reason for an unexpected phonecall? I think I do. Add to that some supressed emotion, and an outburst like the chorus is sure to fllow.

Meanwhile, by then, his girlfriend has walked in and clonked him on the head with a frying pan and called the entire thing off, thus ending his problem. D: Or at least, that's how it'd go in reality.

Cold – A Different Kind of Pain Lyrics 19 years ago
I think there definitely is a problem with the lyrics.

Compare:
"A different kind of pain... is someone there to hold you, is someone there to take you away from me..."
A statement that it is indeed a different sort of pain, a much more intense kind, to see someone that you love... with someone else. Being loved by someone else.

Seeing as 'm living that sort of situation right now, I think it is a *very* different kind of pain.
