this song leaves me in a bit of confusion. when the lyrics say "well if its money, God's got it" makes it seem like its speaking in a sarcastic and mocking perspective. am i wrong here? i hope i am. or do the black crowes actually have some Christian themes in their music? i honestly dont know and am wondering if anyone knows for sure. |

this song is so incredible. the tempo of the song seems so upbeat and the chorus can make you have a misunderstanding of the song "and i guess this is why they call it love". but the song is anything but happy and pleasant. the lyrics are amazing. im very shocked this somehow didnt make it to the cd. any if anyone wants to hear ths song just type in "anberlin - b sides" on youtube and you can check it out! |

the first 20 seconds of this song absolutely blows me away because of it being so melodic. dont get me wrong, this is one of my favorite songs from them, but i wish the entire song was as melodic was the beginning. i just love how the song has the instant melodic aspect to it and whatever the guitar does in the very beginning, i dunno if its reverb, or what but i love that. oh yeah i agree with broomekb, but i better, if he knows the band and knows what its about. |

i really dont think this is about his daughter. i think its about his girlfriend, he wouldnt refer to anyone else as "baby meet me in our dreams tonight" either way, i used to never listen to this song but now i cant stop listening to it. the emotional in Craigs voice is outstanding and especially when the repetition of "you, you, you make me the happiest of men" near the end is just chilling. |

deathcloud, you got it spot on. IDT (especially onthis CD as a whole) writes in a perspective of just moral depletion. this song and im pretty sure none of their songs are about anything Christian. to the contrary they have lyrics that has the verbage of mythological figures especially in Greek mythology. example: Acheron is a river in greece where the greeks thought that it was a part of Hades because of its turbulent tides. another quick example of IDT using a lot of greek mythological figures is the song "A Romance by the Wings of Icarus" iscarus was a character in that mythology. sorry this is quite long but give it a shot, and really pay close attention to IDT's lyrics - they almost always have to do with moral depletion and/or the blending of greek mythological characters. on the surface its easy to say that it has Christian elements because of the lack of morality in our age especially, but check it out people! this song is so powerful musically and lyrically. the meaning seems pretty straightforward. that "someone" kevin is singing about is God. the lyrics display a perfect example of what it truly means to have faith as the Word says that we cannot please Him (God) without having faith. "even though i cant see, the finger prints are everywhere" disciple doesn't have the same in-your-face lyrics they did from albums like "by God" and "Back again" but the fire is still there. beautiful. |

to me this song is about a person who is near death and is talking or writing or thinking about a close friend. obviously ryan is writing from the perspective of the person about to die and is wondering about his friend's willingness to be around at the funeral. the whole thing with stained glass doors, being carried down an aisle with tears and lowered down under skies of grey all obviously have to do with the person being carried through a church and then buried. also: there is one very interesting line in this song "All the blood is rushing out I'm better off without" may be a reference to Heaven whereas there will be no blood in Heaven in the resurrected and glorified bodies due to Christ's shed blood is sufficient enough for all humanity. |

although all the memebers of paramore are indeed Christians, this to me, is definitely not about God. its a cover for one, and the lyrics seem to be clearly about someone not wanting to/having a hard time trying to get over someone. also: i love the tuning in this song. in "stuck on you" and other songs they use guitar tuning that is similar to oldest emo bands from the 90's and i love it. it gives it a real dreamy type of feel. |

i love this song. Adam's vocals are really good in this one. im not exactly sure what this song means, i would think it might be about Adam thinking about a close friend or family member who has died, and they get reunited in Heaven. "i'll be there in years or so. we can talk about something other than the weather, and the people that are still dying here on Earth." you wouldn't say that unless you were referring to someone who has died. again its just a guess, either way, this song is awesome. soccero15, basically the back ground voices are people who are skeptical of God's existence as they talk about how "if God made us and we are in its image, then God would come down and change things" something to that affect, and i think it is so awesome that to counter the typical skeptical view of God and needing all the answers to every questions, cody in the song sings "I think our god isn't God if He fits inside our head" its a very powerful line, because if we knew all the answers to the universe/life there would be no room for faith, and faith is required to please God. |
