Killswitch Engage is so much similar to Metallica, and being a huge Metallica fan ever since I was born, I think I'd know, but, either way, it's just an opinion. Bisto, Swiftimmortal has a point... if those bands didn't exitst Killswitch Probably wouldn't either. I hear a little bit of Patnera in between the lines of the second verse.
I like this song, but I also like KsE's mainstream approach but slightly different. |

I hated this song at first, but it grew on me - and lou and behold I love it. Okay, the solo wasn't anything spectacular, but it was a nice change of pace. I think the new Slipknot stuff will still be heavy but will me melodic as well. This album proved you can be heavy AND melodic. |

To me, this how athiests and non-believers look at Christians, and the lyrics are kind of a mockery of them. The athiests in this song, are pointing fun at Christians because they say they will never be pure and should just give up God. However, the Christians know that the walk with Jesus is neither a hard or easy one, but is one with many good times.
It is also faintly describing the devil:

Failing every face I try to be.
We all fall from grace, so I doubt this song would write about something so common in Christianity. |

This song is great. Extol has an outstanding vocalist, a good drummer, and amazing guitarists.
This song represents to me about how you have to set fire to your soul and burn away your sins. It's about how if you play around sin too much, you will become chained. This is about gathering whats left of your dignity, and crushing those chains. It's about then lighting fire to Satan's soul and spitting in his face for the foolish things he's tempted you to do. Then, it's the calming down, and praying to God for his forgiveness. It goes from fire, to smolder, to a small ember. |

Very heavy song. I love Extol's mix of death, power, and nu-metal. I'm a Christian and I must say, regardless of your religioin, Extol is still good. Though, some parts are questionable - For example, the part where he says "My dear child, come to me..." his voice is way to deep. I think that part should've been ultra fast with the guitar riffing and his voice screaming.
This song is about a girl who has been away from the Lord and has found her life going wrong all of a sudden. She tries to make a connection with the Lord, but cannot, and this breaks her. She begins to cut herself, and her body turns pale from blood loss. The girl sprints into a forest and curls up under a tree, then feels a sudden warmth from God. She cries to Him, and begs for forgiveness. God embraces her, and comforts her, telling her it's all right and forgives her sin. |
