| Defiance, Ohio – The Idea Of North Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
yeah this song was inspired by reading the book The Golden Compass. its about that amazing feeling you get from a book or a movie or even just an idea; "an idea so exciting that suddenly i'm not content with running wild and playing games with friends in streets of this old college town." freaking amazing line i can totally relate to this. So many times when ill read of some great historical figure or read a great adventure novel or about some society or struggle or movement and i just can't help feel useless sitting around on those worthless suburban nights getting wasted or worrying about stupid school shit. i guess its also kinda about themes of the book itself, i.e. the power of children and creativity and our inner strength. |

| Defiance, Ohio – Response To Griot Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| such a good song. When they came through they played this as a closer and it was the greatest song i had ever heard live. so sad but at the same time celebratory. | |
| Verse – Lost Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| really intense song about a kid who got a shitty deal in life. it could of been me or you. | |
| Verse – Waiting On Revolution Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| fuck yeah. Hardcore (and the world) still has a hope | |
| Final Fight – RAGE Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| amazing song. i see this as a criticism of current suburban culture. where all these fucking kids think they are being hardcore or counter-culture but getting wasted and pacifying themselves, rather than fighting for what they believe in. The kid josh i see as a nerd or some punk or hardcore kid who isnt gonna gonna let that happen to himself, and for that he has been relegated to isolation. | |
| Propagandhi – Rock For Sustainable Capitalism Lyrics | 19 years ago |

4) Rock for Sustainable Capitalism: good laugh from Fat Mike, a little pissy, or didn't really give a shit? Mike wasn't pissy. Just a little defensive as anybody would be , I suppose. The song is actually hoping that someday or somehow all these millionare punks will step up to the plate and be citizens of the world instead of just takers. It seems like it's something easy to ask for. We're frustrated. the things that could be done would be amazing. I'm hoping maybe Fat and the bands can at least get together to do recycled packaging or anything at all. Life can't just be about the bottom line. I hope something good comes out of it. If not, at least we said our piece. We are really disillusioned by what the music scene is all about. I'll tell you for sure it has nothing to do with music. from a http://www.skapunkandotherjunk.com internview |

In my opinion NOFX is not "bashing" any bands. In fact propagandhi toured (i belive their 2nd) with noxf and still have good relations. I think it simply NOFX just wants to admit that there are plenty of so called "revolutionaries" who actually just trying to be cool and sell outs. This song makes an implication that being rich automatically makes one a sell out or not a true anarchist or communist. However, i have to disagree with this because throughout history all the most famous revolutionaries (Che Geuvara, Lenin, Robespierre, Marcos, Marx etc) are all from middle or upper class backrounds. Simply being wealthy or poor should be in no way associated with being revlutionary or not. Anarchy: The word "anarchy", as most anarchists use it, does not imply chaos, nihilism, or anomie, but rather a harmonious anti-authoritarian society that is based on voluntary association of free individuals in autonomous communities, mutual aid, and self-governance. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchism) Communism: is a liberal political ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization based upon common ownership of the means of production.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism) Marxism: is the philosophy, social theory and political practice based on the works of Karl Marx, a 19th century German socialist philosopher, economist, journalist, and revolutionary. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marxism) bourgeoisie: Bourgeoisie in modern use refers to the wealthy or propertied social class in a capitalist society. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourgeoisie) "Today's Empires Tomarrow's Ashes": A cd by the far left winged band Propagandhi "The Battle of Los Angeles":A cd by the far left winged band Rage Against the Machine Tubthumper: An ararchist band out of Leeds. Great song very catchy |
