| I agree...all the versions of this song that claim to be by Linkin Park are actually by Kansas. The lead singer of Kansas sounds distinctly different from the singer in Linkin Park so I don't see how people are still trying to convince me otherwise. | |

I love this song because it creates such a vivid picture. It's the last time this couple has sex, and it's so painful. "try as he might, he's unable to speak he grabs her by the hair, he strokes her on the cheek" - she's just told him that she can't be with him anymore, and he doesn't know what to say or do, except pull her angrily towards him and then apologize for that by showing her that he can still be tender. "he drops to his knees, says please my love please i'll kill who you hate, take off that dress you won't freeze" - he is pleading with her to stay with him, and the image in my head is so heartbreaking. he is there on his knees in front of her, telling her that he'll do anything for her, thinking that if he can show her how much he loves her (by making love to her) then she'll stay. "he starts with her back, cause thats what he sees when shes breaking his heart, she still f*cks like a tease" - obviously her back is to him, but he is still trying to get her to respond to him. she finally turns around, and cruelly gives in to his pleading. "release to the sky, look him straight in the eyes and tell him right now now, that you wish he would die" - that gives me the image of him on his back, having an orgasm (releasing to the sky...). she is on top, which asserts her position of power, and right after he is gratified, she reminds him of the situation they are actually in. "you'll never touch him again, so get what you can leaving him empty, just because he's a man" - she's still attracted to him, but in a purely physical way. she's enjoying this last screw, even as she knows she is sucking the life out of him. |
