I always thought about it as being about a drug den
"We would sing and dance around because we know we can’t be found." - Not afraid of getting caught by the fuzz, maybe?
Just my personal take on it. It doesn't really matter anyway. I just chuckle at the thought of such a childlike song being about drugs. |

Listen guys, Listen to the music. Then look at the lyrics, ignoring the the ending. Do they fit together? No. Now look at the ending. He spits this line out with a trace of bitterness in his voice, and it seems pretty clear to me that it's all sarcastic. Or at least, from an outsider's point of view. |

This is obviously about having a rough relationship with someone you do love, but can't stand to be with, and can't be without. "I feel like you've already died" refers to the loss he feels. The second line sounds like a sarcastic jibe, implying whoever he is adressing the song to doesn't earn their money. |
