This song is part of the Paradise Lost storyline based on the epic poem by Milton- this song seems to be a lamentation on the part of Satan on his loss of paradise. At the end, he resolves to destroy paradise- "I'll savour the downfall of Paradise" by tempting Eve. I'm not sure if Michael is singing the chorus- it would make more sense since he's looking down from ethereal skies, but on the other hand, this entire album otherwise seems to be from the point of view of Satan. |

Well, while this song can be taken as a prequel to Divine Wings of Tragedy, which is also about Lucifer, it is more obviously the concluding song on a concept album based on Milton's Paradise Lost- the song therefore deals with Satan victorious, having succesfully tempted Eve and subsequently Adam and getting them ejected from paradise as he had been. However, Satan finds that his "revenge is bittersweet"- the chorus reflects his desire to rise above the whole system of good and evil and the revenge cycle. A masterpiece of a closer to a masterpiece of an album, and a great take on Milton's poem. |

This song is actually, as the band has said, about a guy who goes around to different planets having sex with women. What can I say? The majority of Judas Priest's lyrics are really, really dumb. Luckily for them their so damn good. |
