Es curioso. Muchos dirán que esta canción trata sobre los celos. Yo siempre he pensado que trata sobre alguien que se enamora de una prostituta. Hubo un época, precisamente cuando salió esta canción, en que yo frecuentaba locales de alterne y me sentía exactamente así (incluso alguna noche la canción sonaba en la jukebox). Ahora cuando la escucho no puedo evitar recordar con nostalgia alguna chica de entonces y los buenos ratos que me hicieron pasar.
Que me perdonen algunos pero siempre tendré en alta estima a esas mujeres que tanto bien pueden hacerle al cuerpo y al alma de un hombre solitario. |

Yo lo veo como un tío que ha hecho sufrir a todas las mujeres que han pasado por su vida y cuando se da cuenta de que eso sólo le ha llevado a estar solo y amargado, se sube a un ring de boxeo y se deja pegar por cada una de ellas. Con total resignación. sabiendo que ha sido un cabrón y se merece cada golpe. |

I agree with you cherub .I think Bruce has become a universal preacher. I have this sense everytime I listen to this song.
I´ve seen him playing it live with the E street band and I figure the scene as a modern Jesus and his apostles. (I swear I´m not a religious guy... lol)

I love this song. My favourite PC song. It´s heartbreaking.Sometimes when I´m low and it´s raining I´d like to go out and shout at the top of my voice the last verses as PC does. (Is it me or Clapton´s guitar really cries?)
I miss the times when Phil was so torn to write this kind of songs. Now he´s so happy that only seems to be able to work in Disney soundtracks.
