what is the wall? that is the one thing that bothers the hell out of me. I understand the meaning of the song. BUT WHAT DOES THE 'WALL' BEING 'BURNT DOWN' MEAN?? why has noone commnted this?? this song is epic, and i seems to have a very well-thought meaning. I assume the pigs are either corporate leaders, or world government leaders. I'm still trying to figure it out, more people should post what they think. |

you guys are all onto something, anyway. I think it's about refusing to raise your family under christianity. when he says "you can be almost anything when you're on your fucking knees not today not my son not my family", he means that people believe that faith can bring them anywhere they want, but he isn't going to try and convince his children of this false belief. when he says "this isn't happening the sky is really falling the paint's all made of lead there's asbestos in the wall", he's describing his life fralling apart, but still resisting the urge to pray to god to help him, because he doesn't want to resort to breaking in and accepting religion. he wants to stay strong, and pull through it himself, without giving into something he doesn't believe in, just because some believe it might help. and then he says "not while walking is still honest and you haven't given up on me", which is saying in the back of his head, he believes that in the small chance that maybe, just maybe there IS a god, that he hasn't given up on him just yet. also, on the side, when he says 'dear shithead', I think he's actually directing it toward god himself. awesome song, by the way. |
