I think these lyrics are more acurate than you give yourself credit for. It's hard to tell though, 'cause there are only a couple of versions of this song, all are live and the quality blows. It's a solid song though, I wish it could have been recorded. This song became 'So Cold', if you can get a good ear on the instruments of the chorus, you can tell how it evolved into it. |

OK, local guy adding his two cents. The area that Ben is originally from, there is a larger than normal drug problem for such a suburban area. He was also friends with or romantically involved with a girl who was a heroine user. This song talks about her throwing her life away, and him (and friends) trying to help her but just causing her to become combative about it. He also wishes that his life wasn't so affected by drugs, which eventually led to this woman's death. Take a peak at the lyrics for 'No Games', "...tied to the needle..." |
