Am i the only one who thought this was about God?
The spoken introduction sounds almost prayerlike.
This song could present a disbelief in god:
"And I'll burn the building if I knew you'd die.
And I'll pray you're a failure,
And that you won't make it out alive."
meaning, i'll burn the church and pray you're a faliure (basicly mocking god)
"fairytales" may be references to the stories form the bible.
"one-man-army" could easily mean Jesus, God sent Jesus down as his one man army to change everything.
Thats what i thought anyway, i know it's controversial but i think it's pretty interesting take on the song that stood out straight away for me. |

you probably downloaded a demo version, made before they recorded the whole album properly and added all the post production shizzle. Either way you choes an amazing song to download, the introduction to this makes me happy whenever i hear it. this is one of the most energetic sounding bands i've ever heard. every song is exciting and i'd really love to see them play live.

She's moved on and there is no real connection between them any more, the friendship as well as the relationship had died leaving him with nothing.
Understandably he feels crap about being forgotten so easily "Is what I meant to you that forgettable?"
This band are great, i find their words at best touching and honest, at worst funny due to stereotype emoness "INSIDE I'M BLACK AND I'M HOLLOW" haha i love that |

can i just ask am i the only one who thinks this sounds like he says: "you've got a MONA of your own"? as in Mona Lisa, meaning that this girl has a mysterious smile as well. he doesn't understand her because of enigmatic-ness and thus has to "be patient" about her if he's going to get with her. He likes her, she gives him that same "blood rush" but she is very different (because of her mystery) to other girls and thus has a "new touch"
that's what i got from this song, i could be wrong but i think it's an interesting alternative |

no wait it was relevant, well half of it. the bulletproof vest bit is obviously for another song.
Basically I think this song is about him having to tip toe around somebody to keep them happy, he does so much for her to "save confrontation" but she doesn't appreciate it at all shown in the line "you say I'm useless as a million miles of cellotape"
He walks on eggshells for her, putting himself in "this awkward position" for her benefit and it's starting to ruin their friendship
"I can't make you, and I can't see you fall
I can't help you, help you see at all"
He realises at the end of the song that he cannot help her if she's not going to listen to him and resigns to the fact that she cannot be made to see what she's doing wrong and thus cannot be helped. |
